Author bio:
I am an avid reader & writer of fantasy, paranormal and erotic fiction. When not writing, I read two to three novels a week, write book reviews, play D&D/LFR, and attend gaming conventions. I have worked a plethora of jobs... an amusement park ride supervisor, EMT, ER Tech., bartender, dancer (yep, 'that' kind!), land surveyor, CSR, Dir. of Ops for a marketing company, and now I am a writer. I write books that I love to read. Characters that you want to know more about in stories that hold your interest (hopefully!) I write sex. Plain and simple. No soft-core romance but the honest to good sex as it is supposed to be. You won't find sex thrown in randomly but when you do find it, I write it as I see it. I write all types of erotica in fantasy & paranormal settings but mainly write male/male romances. I have also written female/male, female/male/male, and BDSM. I never plan to write a specfic erotica so there is no telling what characters my muse may allow to tell their stories for next. For signed Kindle copies of my books, please send me a request through Kindlegraph! http://www.kindlegraph.com/authors/BCothernBooks I would love to hear from you, drop me a line or send me a message!

NEWS - MAY 2012: The first audio book of my scifi series is now available at Audible, Amazon and iTunes. Appropriate for all ages. Search for Saardu or Carma Chan at your favorite ebook and audiobook site. ABOUT CARMA: Yes, it is my real name. And no, my parents were not hippies. I come from a Utah Mormon family, and no, I am not a Mormon though most of my brothers and sisters and their kids are, and we get along. I was born a California Girl and I love L.A.! You can take the girl out of the warmth, but you can't make her cold! I started writing poetry at age twelve and still do on occasion. My passion for the challenges of wordsmithing an excellent Haiku translates well to screenwriting, which requires tremendous discipline and structure. Lately, I have gotten excited about the ebook trend and decided to focus all of my spare time and energy on finishing my scifi series, Saardu. I am currently working on audio books 1-5 and the 6th ebook. My training as a writer came from four memorable teachers: Mrs. Dunn, 7th Grade English at Dixie Junior High School in St. George, Utah; Miss Hill, 9th Grade English at Riverside Junior and Mr. Forrest at Murray High School; and last but not least, Professor Richard Walter at UCLA Film School. I also learned from brutally honest peers in writing workshops, who gave me high fives for originality, dialogue and creating characters people care about. What inspired me to write science fiction? Well, it wasn't science fiction novels, that's for sure! Not that there is anything wrong with them, I simply was not a fan of the genre and never read a single one of the classics. Not even one sentence. The closest I came to that genre in literature is Douglas Adams, because his wonderfully absurd Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy trilogy of four novels when I read them (now there is a fifth book included in that 'trilogy') made me laugh out loud a lot. Don't worry, I hated the movies based on his books as much as most of his fans did--someone with real passion and a ton of money needs to do that series of movies right! But wait--let's do Saardu movies first!! Narnia was a huge inspiration for me as a childhood favorite that I have read many times. However, Saardu is not an allegory for Christianity or for atheism. It is not a spiritual fable at all. It is science fantasy. It is mythological in nature. It has everything to do with my fascination upon looking at Hubble Telescope snapshots of the universe, as well as my unquenchable curiosity about my brother's schizophrenia and the mind in general, and finally it is ripe with my love of movies in general (including scifi favorites like Star Wars and Star Trek--yes, I love scifi movies, I'm simply not a fan of reading scifi, though I do love to write it!) Annoyed by how often Hollywood screws up movies--such as the way they changed the ending of 'Love Story', a movie I hated as a teen, after I loved the book--I decided to learn to write for film, and wrote Saardu as a screenplay. After it won awards and the professor's letter of recommendation, I adapted that version of Saardu to novel form, and continued along those lines for the sequels. (Saardu will have to build an established audience as a novel before anyone in Hollywood will put their career on the chopping block to produce a big budget film project written by an unknown talent, that's the way it is for big budget screenplays, even when they've won high praise and writing awards.) As the mood strikes, I also write short stories, memoirs, parenting articles, essays, poetry, and children's picture books. My goal is to gradually build an audience and grow old together. My fans love me for my imagination, experimentation, bravery, sass and zest for life! I'm a down-to-earth tomboy at heart, a Bohemian, a folk singer, geek, gardener, nature photographer, and above all I am a good Mom. -------------- To Whom It May Concern: I've known Carma Dillon [Chan] for five years, first as my student in an off-campus screenwriting seminar, and then in my UCLA Summer Session course in advanced screenwriting. She started working on her remarkable SAARDU quite some years ago, and surely would have finished it sooner if she had not put the care and nurturing of a special-needs child ahead of her ambitions as a writer. Carma demonstrates politeness and humility, and an exceptional dedication and passion for mastering her art and craft. I found her first draft of SAARDU to be original, fresh, and highly marketable. I gave her notes on the script; she accepted constructive analysis with an open heart and mind. Working with Carma is a joy. She strives always to do her best, yet with a lightheartedness that is contagious. She is gracious and patient and honorable in every way. She has a deep love for storytelling. With her vivid imagination and love for life, she is capable of writing anything she puts her mind and heart to. She has written several screenplays, all of them worthy. SAARDU is, however, in my view the most special among her stories. SAARDU represents one piece of a vast new myth. It involved challenging choices regarding structure and other screenwriting issues. Through perseverance and diligence she solved all of them. This script is no small achievement. It is worthy of consideration at the highest levels of the industry. It has been an honor and enchantment to have come to know Carma and to have been able to support her in the creation of SAARDU. SAARDU is a story of relationships and identity. These are very same themes that lie at the heart of worthwhile dramatic narratives going all the way back to the ancient Greek masters. SAARDU is another world, in another time, but it is also a reflection of us, here and now. Ruby, the unlikely hero, is endearing and I found myself cheering for her at the turn of every page. Carma has created several strong characters to challenge and guide Ruby. I promise you'll agree that Carma Dillon [Chan] is a writer worth reading.
