‘appen it ‘appened one evening,
The Magi dropped in for ther tea,
They telled they were looking for t’baby,
I telled ‘em take one of our three.
They laughed and said no, this un’s special,
He’s comin’ to save all mankind,
Dad said if He hopes to save Wednesday,
He’ll have all His work cut out, mind.
They came in and sat on the sofa,
All prim in ther daft looking hats,
And drank from the best Pound Shop china,
And chatted of thises and thats.
We talked of the financial crisis,
Of what do they teach ‘em in schools,
Of who would win Strictly Come Whippet,
And what chance a scoop on the pools.
As starlight were shining through t’winder,
They made as if ready to part,
And gatherin’ three smelly parcels,
They said that they’d best mek a start.
The only thing they left behind ‘em,
As they plodded away up us street,
Were a steamin’ hot pile dropped by t’camel,
That should fettle the roses a treat.
