  • Should Aspartame be used as an alternative to natural sugar?



  1. What is Aspartame?

Aspartame is a man made alternative to sugar but unlike sugar it contains hardly any calories, you also can use a lot less off it because it is 180 times sweeter than sugar . It was accidentally discovered in 1965 after a scientist was trying to find a cure to mouth ulcers, he noticed the sweet taste of the formula it wasn’t much good for mouth ulcers but it was incredibly sweet!


Aspartame is an issue that doesn’t really have a definitive answer many people believe that it can be very harmful. But it offers a chance for people who are diabetic to enjoy sweets, fizzy drinks, etc. In this report I will talk about the benefits and problems with Aspartame.

  1. Where do we use Aspartame?

Aspartame is used in thousands of products all over the world over 200 people have consumed products with Aspartame in them. Its used in all most any products that have ''Diet'' In their name. ''Diet Coke'' etc.
