Chapter One : Missing

There are millions of people in the world. You pass another person on a street approximately 700 times a day, so how is it someone can simply just disappear, never to be found again.

Suzy Lamplugh was 25 years old when she disappeared. She was working as a Estate agent in London. She had been with the company for a year and 4 months, when she made an appointment that would be her last. She had arranged to show a prospective client around a 3 storey building that had just come on the market. She drove there, and was never seen again. She simply just vanished. The alarm was raised by her boss, who grew worried when a number of hours had passed and Suzy had not returned. He drove to the house that she was showing to her client, he saw no sign of them, but a neighbour confirmed they had been there earlier. He drove back to the office and contacted her parents, she wasn’t with them either. As the day moved on to late afternoon the police were contacted. They searched her flat but found nothing of use to them, she was not home. In the next few days the police learned that she was a happy well adjusted girl, who had never ran away, and wasn’t likely to. They got a name and a description of the so called client she had last been seen with, Mr. Kipper was the name he had given to the estate agents and the neighbour provided the police with a description, he was taller than Suzy, aged 25-30, handsome, slim and looked wealthy. Days later the police found Suzy’s car abandoned in a quiet street, not far from the house she had been showing, inside the car they found Suzy’s purse and the driver’s seat had been pushed right back, as far as it would go, suggesting it wasn’t Suzy that had drove the car to the street where it had been abandoned. Nine months later Suzy’s family held an remembrance service. She went missing in 1986 and has never been seen since.

The army of Greek Emperor Cambyses was on it’s way to Siwa Oasis, Cambyses believed that he had been cursed and was going there, with his 50,000 strong army to see if a powerful Oracle there could help him. It did not go well, and Cambyses was making his way back home. The army and Cambyses made it halfway, but never returned home. Somewhere in the desert something happened to make one of the biggest armies of the old world disappear. Theories have risen that a terrible sand storm hit them, which covered and choked the troops and their king. One thing is for certain, something in the great Greek desert that day awakened and claimed the lives of 50,000 men.

Francois Villon is widely known as being the finest poet France has ever produced. Villon always wrote about sorrows of the soul. His own life however was far from poetic. He associated with prostitutes, pimps, thugs and spent his life constantly in and out of prison. On the 5th January 1463 he was sentenced to the gallows, to hang until dead, however at the last minute the French government showed mercy on him, and instead banished him from France. Since leaving France Villon simply disappears. He is not seen or heard of again. He simply vanishes from the surface of the planet.

In the wild west lived a stagecoach robber with a difference. Charles E. Boles (also known as Black Bart) pulled off his heists without ever firing a single shot, or hurting anybody. He was famous for leaving messages behind for the authorities. Eventually he was caught and sent to San Quentin prison. In 1888 he was released, took to living in a boarding house in San Francisco, where he simply vanished. The police searched the room from top to bottom, no trace of him was ever found.

Chapter Two : Dreams

For many of us, dreams are just something we do when we sleep, to others it’s our consciousness trying to tell us something and to a select few it’s a chance to live out their fantasies.

Dreams are considered widely to be important to our health, everybody dreams, the difference is you either remember dreaming or you don’t. They are certain dreams that contain the same themes.

The falling Dream

You’re on a high building, all you see when you look down is just dark tarmac. Falling dreams can be quite scary, and usually ends with the dreamer being woke up with a jolt. Usually you wake up before hitting the ground, it is said that if you don’t wake up before hitting the ground, you could die in real life.

But what does it mean? Falling dreams usually mean that you wish to take the back seat in your life, for a change, let someone else take over for a while or it could literally mean that you have fallen, either failing at something or that you have failed someone.

The Flying Dream

We’re all had it, your flying through white cloud, blue skies, flying over cities, countryside. This dream is usually a good experience bringing feelings of contentment and pleasure to the dreamer. The meaning behind this dream, you’re flying away from you’re problems, problems suddenly become very easy to conquer.

The Naked Dream

You’re walking into a public area when people stop, turn, point at you. You look down at yourself only to find that your naked. Dreams of nakedness often mean you’re scared of something being found out about a lie you’ve told, or something you’ve done being brought to light.

The Fleeing Dream

By far the most frightening Dream most of us have had. You’re running through cold, dark streets, something’s chasing you, you just know it wants to catch you and hurt you. This dreams comes with frightening meanings, that the dreamer has a fear of being hurt, attacked or a fear of a life threatening disease. These types of dreams can be hard to shake, even when awake, the feeling of dread remains.

(These interpretations are just a few meanings that a dream can possible mean. The correct meaning of a dream you have, must be left down to you to decide.)

Taking control of your dreams might not be as hard as it sounds. Start a dream diary, jotting down each nights dream, when you wake. You’ll eventually remember more and more of your dream the longer you do it, and you can see what kind of dreams your having, and therefore be able to see the specific meaning it has to you.

Chapter Three : Lost Places

Atlantis, was a city like no other. A civilization that outshone any other. Sadly there is no definite proof that it ever existed, but there is also no proof saying it did not.

Greek philosopher Plato wrote about it, describing it as a place where humans and animals lived in harmony, a place of stunning beauty created by skilled agriculturists, it’s royal palace was the most beautifully constructed building ever created. Sadly these mightily people must have deeply offended the Olympian gods, because at the height of their reign, 9,000 years before Plato was born, great earthquakes and floods were sent to kill and destroy Atlantis.

It is said they angered the gods by becoming obsessed with their treasures and losing their goodness. They were building armies to invade other lands. Zeus himself was said to have sent the floods and earthquakes personally, and made sure that Atlantis would never be found by making the sea at that spot impassable and unsearchable.

Many times, researchers have gone in pursuit of these lost city, and have come back empty handed. A few times some artefacts have been found, but have yielded no clues as to the sunken city’s whereabouts.

Of the most famous explorers that went looking for the city was Colonel Percy Harrison Fawcett (said to be the inspiration for Steven Spielberg’s Indiana Jones movies). Fawcett’s motivation was a black stone idol necklace that an adventure friend had given him, a psychic claimed that it had come from Atlantis.

He was spurred on when he found a map, showing him a nameless city, he departed for the city on the map, but sadly never returned. His remains have never been found.
