JENNY

Jenny was often watched with envy, but all the other children never treated her gently. They pushed her and pulled her till she could bear no more. They punched her and they kicked her. They threw her to the floor. So Jenny ran to her Mother but she did no more.

The very next day the children did wait, for lessons to end and Jenny was at the school gate. They kicked her and beat her until she was muddy. They told her face would always look funny. Let’s see if we can fix it, said a boy with a grin. He pulled out a knife, hidden from within.

Poor Jenny was sliced from cheek to ear. That very same day Jenny did disappear.

Early one morning to Jenny’s delight. Her school filled with children, did suddenly ignite.

There’s a lesson to be learnt, for all children not wishing to be burnt.
