Thank you for taking the time to pick up this book. I pray that you will be blessed as God speaks to you through these pages. This book offers you a glimpse into my personal Quiet Time with the King of Kings. I began to hear Him speak to me clearly in 1998. Since then, I have kept these words closely guarded, collected in a notebook secured safely in a tote bag nestled in my closet. On several occasions through the years, I heard the Lord tell me to “pull out the book,” but I was intimidated because I had drifted in my walk with Him. Our relationship had grown further apart because I allowed other priorities to take place over spending time with my Creator. Reviewing His daily directions to me would only remind me that I had been seriously slacking on cultivating my relationship with Him. As if He didn’t know exactly where I was!
This book is in your hands today because I chose to obey His mandate on my life. I have been anointed to write…but what good is writing if it is not shared? So, my friend, I pray this book will encourage you to initiate your own approach to the King’s throne – one that will blossom into a growing relationship and flourish in an unending quest to abide in His presence. He really longs to talk with each of us on a consistent basis (not just when we’re in trouble). This book grew out of my experience of writing in my journal before bedtime and seeking answers to my questions about things going on in my life at the time. I was single and seeking His face diligently to learn of His plan for my life (since my own plan seemed to have lots of roadblocks, detours, and dead ends).
Much has changed in my life since then, but He remains faithful and His Word is true. God continues to bless me, and I know He will do the same for you. Seek Him in your own personal walk and watch your life change. Enjoy the journey!

Chapter 1. Choosing to Embark on God’s Journey For My Life
My child, I am dropping decisiveness into your spirit this very day. I am proud of you for standing firm and sticking to your convictions as prompted by My Holy Spirit. Your mind cannot waver when your attention is fixed on Me. See how I carry you through? This is only one lesson of leadership – stay tuned for many more. In the coming days, I will multiply exponentially your wisdom and understanding (according to your prayers and heart's desire), and teach you how, where, and when specifically to apply them. There are no questions in the answer; ponder this. I am the Answer, so this is the reason you had no questions as I led you through all of the day's events. I gave you that peace, I gave you that victory, and I gave you that joy! No man can steal your garments; rejoice! I have covered you under the shadow of the Almighty; you are safe.
Consider yourself in an incubator right now. When you come out, you will be fully-grown and able to nurture others. In the meantime, continue to feed on the meat I place before you; grow strong and tall, upright even, in My grace and yes, integrity. You're definitely getting it! Isn't this more fun than any man-made course? You have been enrolled in the Heavenly School of Practical Teachings. Drink deeply from the well that never runs dry; quench your thirst and refresh the spring that lies deep within you. A spring is a source of water to many; that's you! I am the rain that replenishes and restores the spring (the Source of the source, if you will).
This means you are in the middle of a shower; get drenched! I told you last summer I would saturate your very being like a cloud, the mist of which would surround and permeate you. Don't you feel it wrapping all around you? You are covered by Me; fear not what others may try to do to you, say about you, or prevent you from doing. If I lead you to accomplish something, say something, or present something, no man can hinder or prohibit it from coming forth. Rest in the fact that My Word is yea and amen; go forth boldly.
The King's table is spread before you; you have your choice of the delicacies available. I am even giving you the decisiveness to choose wisely, for they all look pleasing to the eye, but one may not set right with your stomach, one may look like one thing but actually be another (causing disappointment which in turn yields discontentment and bitterness), one may contain something that will harm you. You're learning; don't stop. Purity, righteousness, and holiness are indeed noble characteristics to desire; I shall grant them to you if you continue to walk in My paths.
Speak forth My Word to the youth, and a mighty work will be wrought in the land. I am ready to pour out My Spirit upon all flesh, and the youth will be an integral piece of this move. Prepare them, for you have received the training (and that which you don't have, I am giving you, even when you're not aware)! It may be uncomfortable, but it's only temporary; the pressure may seem too much to bear, but remember - I bore it all.
I delight to bless you, My daughter! Know that there is much more on the way to you as you remain faithful to that which I am calling you to. If you only knew . . . but you will soon find out (but don't try to imagine, because you can't)! Just rest in the knowledge that I am taking care of it all, and you will be well-pleased (and well-rewarded) for faithfulness in all areas – this is not conditional or contingent upon emotions.
Chapter 2. Receiving Daily Gifts from the King
Just as I gave you the gift of decisiveness two days ago with the victory for approval to attend the management workshop, yesterday's gift was discernment, which I noted you exercised when visiting your friend’s church. My Spirit gave you the astuteness to see the mixture of flesh with My anointing, which is why your heart was grieved on several occasions during praise and worship and the offering.
I will give you at least one gift a day if you are ready and willing to receive, for I delight to bless My people when they walk in obedience and expectancy of My awesome power. Today's gift is rest. Tomorrow's gift is order (yes, it is time to clean up and tidy your personal affairs).
This day, you are springing up like a well, bubbling like a brook, and rushing like a flood as I direct your path. Keep your eyes directly on Me; do not be distracted, even by that which has a semblance, appearance, or form of holiness. Neither lapse back into old habits that are unworthy of your high calling. Guard the city and the gates thereof; stand on the night watch and gird yourself by day. Continue to stand.
Timing, timing, timing. Do not rush. I have appointed a specific time for your musical gifts to be displayed, and I will show you trustworthy, holy people who will help bring this project to fruition under My guidance. In the meantime, prepare. Brainstorm and anticipate under the influence of the Holy Spirit, apply your critical thinking skills, and gird up for the next undertaking. It will be exciting, I will do a quick work; yea, you will even marvel at how it progresses as you go through, but you must do your part to cover the bases on your end at this time.
And yes, you must spend more time with Me. Removing the distractions is one step, but you must move into the discipline of filling that time with purposeful activity as I direct. Follow Me. Come unto Me, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you. Do not let others put their yokes on you, and don't fall into the trap of getting too busy or occupied with the little things. Walk lightly and gently among others, but do not become too attached, for I am your exceeding glory.
Chapter 3. Choosing Life and The Solitary Walk
You can't be like everybody else; that is not what I've ordained. I am doing and will do a new thing in you, through you, and for you. I've been bidding you to come closer, wooing you - now, you must abandon all to follow Me. Cut off that which hinders you from obeying My Word. Separate yourself from those who choose not to accept the way I am moving in these last days. They will usurp your energy and attempt to plant seeds of doubt and/or confusion in your mind. The time is so short and the situation so dire that you should share with no one unless I lead you to them because I have prepared their hearts. There are many foolish among My people (and many more among those who are not My people) who do not discern the times and are unaware of the signs and wonders. Focus on the ones that I point out to you, and you shall see me do a mighty work in their lives.
I will define you; let Me define you in My terms, not in man's terms. Your steps are ordered by Me. This is not the time for the traditional or the status quo; I do a new thing, and I am raising up a people unto Myself who will worship Me in spirit and in truth, and delight to obey My will. I want to address all the preconceived notions and misconceptions you have about what "the ministry" entails. There is a difference in being a minister and ministering unto Me. Right now is your season to minister unto Me.
I am in the process of creating in you the traits, qualities, and characteristics you must possess to be a victorious overcomer. Yield to the pressure, and you shall emerge as pure gold - behold, I do a quick work. Prepare yourself to be overshadowed by My glory. Yea, even the places upon which your feet shall tread, where you go, others will see My glory upon you, and recognize My power, and you will find favor among those to whom I send you. I chose you - no one else, and not yourself - so you were created for My use and good pleasure, and you belong to Me. Never lose sight of this. Remain holy and pure at all times, so that I may be able to use you as I see fit. Be ye ready!
What is the difference between a soloist and a director? A director and a minister? Who you serve, where your focus lies, and where the focus of those following you or under your directions lies. Think on this.
I pondered these truths as I evaluated where I found myself in music ministry and where I believed God was taking me. I also must remember not to rush – He told me to prepare, so I can’t try to move ahead of Him.
Chapter 5. A Personal Progress Report From His Word
The following two verses were in my Spirit as I reflected on what it takes to be diligent in obeying God’s Word. “The King's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold” (Psalm 45:13). "Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all" (Proverbs 31:29). I am so grateful for today's gifts from You, Lord: endurance, cheerfulness, excellence (Psalm 47:4), and – dare I say – glory! I am glad I chose to obey You, for the rewards surpass and exceed the sacrifices. Truly, You are a rewarder of those who diligently seek You (Hebrews 11:6).
Chapter 6. A Call to Launch Out Into the Deep
You are standing just under the ledge while it's raining glory outside. You have a few drops on you, but you're not wet - you're damp. You're dipping your toe in the water, but I'm calling you to jump in with careless abandon in order to get completely immersed. I specifically use the swimming analogy because you can't swim (yet, I will teach you if you have enough faith to conquer the spirit of fear). Do you understand what it means to be endued with the Spirit? I do want to possess you, but not in a negative way, for I only want what is best for you (yes, I have plans to prosper you).
It is about submitting your spirit and your will unto Me. However do you think you'll be able to teach others about this until I've shown you this spiritual principle, My child? Be patient, for I love you and you are progressing on schedule through My coursework. But, as it was when you were in a formal classroom setting, you must stay on task, be diligent to complete your tasks, and maintain a willingness and unquenchable desire to learn. This desire will become contagious to others, but first it must be real to you. Remember to allow the Holy Spirit to hone your focus, and do not become distracted.
Know that it is never your own power, or your feelings, which determine the outcome of a situation. My people are often spiritually myopic - you can never see or anticipate how I will work, so don't try! Your job is to rest in My peace, content in knowing that I am working it out for your good. Remember, the youth choir is Mine, so I will use it for My good pleasure. Sometimes I level a person before I elevate him or her. These precious souls have a lot built up inside of them (even at this young age) that needs to be torn down before I pour My glory into their vessels. They will be tried in the fire, but I shall protect them.
That is why you must teach them - by example and through the program I will lead you to develop. They will truly be perfecting the excellent potential that I have placed within each of them. For their sake (and your own), do not compromise. I am creating in you the desire to be faithful. I see that you are already becoming more available; yield completely. Keep nothing for yourself - give all to Me. I demand total, utter, and complete surrender. You shall be able to sing that song “I Surrender All” in due season. I am still preparing you. Receive today's gifts: peace and calm.
Chapter 7. The Joy of the Lord is My Strength
I am making you a pillar - your friend needs you right now. Many will come to draw strength from you. Remain plugged into the Source so that you are able to give them a taste of My glory divine. Yesterday's gift: harmony. Today's gift: my joy was restored, yea, even made complete.
Shine, My little one; shine on for Me! Be radiant in My glory. Your beauty reflects Mine, so when others gaze upon you, they see Me; in this I am well-pleased. Remain humble, for this sweetness is what draws many to you. Rest in Me, for I still have you safely in the palm of My hand. No man can harm or hinder you. Move forward this day, and even this week, in My blessing. Gain the wisdom and understanding as I impart it unto you, and watch Me work. Miracle upon miracle is about to come your way - but that is why I have used this as preparation time for you.
I see your heart as you are being purified and sanctified, and you are pleasing in My sight. Continue pressing toward the mark, for I have truly given you a high call. Do not be distracted by external factors or circumstances like your age, experience in the company, or even those to whom you report. I have chosen you. Did you not note how I changed the very heart of a man to enable you to be here at this appointed time in this appointed place? I change not; have faith - trust and believe. When I place and appoint someone, it's different from when man does it. I am calling and appointing you, so it's out of man's hands. I may choose to use others to get you where I want you, but I am in control of who, what, when, where, how, and why; that about covers it, so why don't you rest, and obey, and move when I say to do so?
My plan is so much greater than anything you can imagine. I am preparing you for greater things - quickly - with these daily gifts, some of which are intangible. But now, because of the word of your testimony (verbal and by example), I am about to shower you with tangible gifts. Remain faithful and endure to obtain My best for you. What I promise, I deliver. Let no man hinder you from being the vivacious young woman I have called you to be. Even when they don't say it, others marvel (become filled with wonder, surprise, or astonishment) at you. I created you for My glory, so don't be concerned about holding back in order to spare others. I am in control of their situations, too. Just do what I call you to do, and you'll see everything fall in line.
When I began to understand this day’s lessons, a prayer of thanksgiving flowed from my heart: Thank You, Lord for making me multi-talented and multi-faceted and for continuing to reveal Your purpose to me. I am humbled at Your feet, I bow and honor and reverence You, my King. Have Your way in my life; be glorified, and place me where You will to do Your good pleasure.
By design, I am adding depth to your breadth. I am enlarging your borders. I am causing you to grow. I am allowing others to look upon you and call you blessed. I am moving on your behalf so that others will have to recognize the power of Me inside of you and working through you and for you. Look to me as your Source, and you shall never be disappointed, for I am true to My Word; I am the fairest of ten-thousand.
Prepare to enter the King's palace (Psalm 45:15) - with gladness and rejoicing shall you be brought there!
I awoke today with newness of life, receiving the gifts of affirmation and reassurance in my identity in Christ, appreciation, confirmation, validation, and being appointed by God! You have caused me to sit still at Your feet while You teach me the ways of your kingdom.
Chapter 9. Separating From the World
Come out from among them. I'm calling you up higher, and you won't be able to rise with dead weight. Release it and rise, or stay attached and remain in your current position. You do have a choice. If you let Me direct the way your time is used, many of these issues will be alleviated.
When I thought it was so necessary to bring everybody with me on my journey, this message clarifies Your desire for intimacy with me as an individual, not as part of a crowd. You want to meet the familiar people around me in intimacy too, but they have to want to be close to You. A tree is known by its fruit, and I can see that some of my so-called friends (and even family members) are content with their lives just the way they are. So I must pray for them, but continue in my walk to strengthen and build my relationship with You. I cannot be distracted; it’s too high a price to pay.
Chapter 10. Conviction to Walk Worthy of the High Calling: Fasting, Praying, Waiting
Of course it doesn't feel good. You've been stuffing your flesh; now it's time to starve your flesh so I can feed your spirit and get the glory. The Word says where two or more are gathered in My Name, there am I also in their midst. Your mother is one, and you make two, so gather. Watch what I can do with two people when both are yielded.
You may fast these two days with fruits and vegetables and plenty of water; your body needs to be restored as well. Know that the “little things” count just the same as the big ones in My eyes.
Wait on Me and abide in My presence and under My shadow with patience and expectancy. In this preparation time, I am still working some things out of you and working some things in you. Victory is certain as you keep your eyes on Me. Sit still long enough to listen and hear My voice. It is time to slow down; follow My lead and allow Me to set your pace.
Chapter 11. He Chose Me: Promotion Comes from the Lord
A mature person speaks when necessary and is also disciplined to keep silence when required. Guard your mouth; keep a watch over your tongue. Faithfulness certainly has its rewards. In Esther 2:17, the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favor in the king's sight more than all the virgins, so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.
For the past couple of days, you've heard Me saying, why not you? Whether the situation seemed to you to be positive or negative, who wouldn't I promote you; likewise, why wouldn't I allow you to be tried in the fire? Lift your head and behold My glory; I've been with you the whole time. Rejoice, for I come quickly.
Chapter 12. Releasing the Familiar to Embrace His Glory
What you see is not what it appears to be. What it looks like is not what it actually is.
Psalm 45:10-12 - "Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house; so shall the king greatly desire thy beauty, for he is thy lord, and worship thou him. And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favor."
Seek Me. Seek My face. Humble yourself in My presence so that I may be glorified in your life. Examine your motives and willingly present yourself a living sacrifice – holy and pleasing in My sight. This is a daily assignment. Truly, all the answers you seek are in My presence, where you should rest and abide.
Let me work out of you: impatience, lust of the flesh, greed, gluttony, self-promotion, self-consciousness, self-righteousness, laziness, disbelief/lack of faith, denial of truth and reality, delayed or selective obedience (which equals disobedience), hypocrisy, judgment, perfectionism, lack of compassion or burden for others, selfishness, control, exhibitionism, procrastination, etc.
When these things are removed, then will I be able to pour all of My glory into your vessel. I am able to do a quick work, but you must yield to My capable hands and lay down on the spiritual operating table. It will be uncomfortable only for a moment, and the rewards will be great. Will you allow Me to work in you totally? I don't want 90%, 95%, or even 99.9%. I want all of you. Then you can say, “I surrender all.” Let Me be your role model, selfless and giving.
You do not have the luxury of choosing to focus on what few positive attributes you naturally possess; I want to show Myself supernaturally through your vessel. Get out of yourself and get into My presence. Yes, this is a message of chastisement because I am grieved that you have not remained in My presence, but have chosen to come only when it was convenient for you or when you wanted a need met. How it saddens Me to see the inconsistency.
Build your relationship with Me so I can trust you with My treasures. Let Me reassure you that you have no form of godliness, but let me ensure that you have the real thing - the substance and essence of My presence in your life. Repent, focus on Me, and move forward this day in a new anointing, even a holy and reverent one that acknowledges My supreme power. You are nothing in yourself, but in Me, you are great. Never lose sight of this fact. I love you, and discipline you for this reason. I chastise those whom I love, and you are greatly loved. Look around you for evidence of this. Let Me arise, and I will raise you at the same time. If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto Me. Let me use you; don't even think about directing yourself. My Spirit is in you for a reason and a divine purpose; utilize the power.
Chapter 13. The Process of Sanctification
Yesterday's gift was freedom. Today's gift is sanctification, a process detailed in II Chronicles 29. It is worth studying this passage of Scripture to see what areas in my life could use some cleansing and consecration.
Today's gift: restoration (of joy and abilities).
Your jubilance blesses Me, My child. Keep your eyes on Me, and I shall withhold no good thing from you. See how I have strengthened your faith? Walking in My paths and precepts is quite rewarding, isn't it? And it just gets better – wait and see! The time you have spent in self-examination of your heart and motives is paying off.
I am calling you up higher, and it may seem a bit lonely to you right now, but because you have dropped so much dead weight, it will require relatively little effort on your part to rise to the position in which I place you. Keep your eyes on me - indeed the promises, surprises, blessings, and opportunities for growth are waiting. Your time is soon to arrive. You will soon see that the time I've used for your preparation was well worth what you viewed as delay. Delight yourself in Me this day, and I will bless you deliriously! Receive the gifts!
Chapter 15. Prayer and the Process of Being Perfected in Him
Yea, I am working on your behalf even as you pray and intercede for others. I am well-pleased in your sacrificial offering, and the sweet-smelling savor floats up to heaven. Always make sure that your primary motive is to give Me praise and glory. I will get the praise and glory from your work situation (location; position; a state of affairs; a job). It will be like a hidden stone getting polished up. The recognition will come – not because you seek it, but because I bestow it upon you.
I have only the best for you – do not settle, now or ever. Wait on me. Trust in me. These are more than song lyrics; they are lessons for daily living and success in kingdom principles. Patience and faith, that's what you need, and love in abundance. Allow Me to love through you. Open your arms and you will find they can accommodate an embrace far larger than you ever imagined. Love the world and her inhabitants. Show mercy and grace upon others even as I shower you with these same gifts. Go forth, be fruitful, and put your hands to the plow.
Chapter 16. Fully Equipped for the Battle
A loving Father wouldn't send His child into battle without full equipment, would He? Why not you? I am sending you to ministerial training for My purposes, which will be fully revealed in time. Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water to a lost and dying world that I love so dearly. I am sending you to the people, even My people, who hunger to hear from Me. Every experience up to this very moment has been in preparation for your answer to a higher call. You are finally starting to get out of the way. Continue to yield your hopes, dreams, desires, talents, and ambitions to Me, and I will mold, shape, and craft them into a magnificent work. Can you feel the rain? You're more than damp now, but you will be soaked - get ready!
Chapter 17. Total Surrender and Complete Yielding
When you yield yourself and your members completely to Me, then I show you the path of true obedience. Why should I reveal to you My secrets and treasures for you when you come into My presence only for self-motivated reasons? I want to know your level of commitment - where is your heart? Is it really with Me? Now is the time of decision.
I am calling you up higher, but the choice is yours. You are in a comfortable place, but I want to challenge you and bring you into a wealthy place in Me. Do you trust Me enough to put your own life in My hands? Are you willing to give Me control? I weep to see you struggle to figure it all out – for you never will, My child! Come unto Me, take My hand; take My yoke upon you (Matthew 11:28-30). I am the Answer to all your questions. Learn Me. Know Me. Seek Me. Feast upon Me. Do not forget about Me or think of Me as a secondary thought. Make Me your primary concern, and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).
You are making progress, but you're still trying to analyze things too much. Don't you know that my thoughts are past your understanding? I will give you wisdom, discernment, and understanding, but you will not have My understanding of the complexities of situations or the reasoning behind My plans and purposes – they are for Me to take care of. I do My job – are you faithful? Do you fulfill what I've called you to at this time? Continue to allow Me to work in your heart and soften you so that your image truly reflects Christ and is not just a cheap imitation.
You are a work-in-progress, but if you could see what the end result will be, you would rejoice more fervently even now. Begin to rejoice in Me – not in My blessing or in your situation, or even in My promises, but in Me! Ask Me to reveal Myself to you, and you shall be brought beyond the veil when your hands and heart are clean and pure (Psalm 24:4). Ask the Holy Spirit to maintain you in this state so that you may be presented as part of the cleansed, purified, spotless, unblemished, holy Bride.
Stop focusing on what you see. Your fleshly senses are misleading; ask for My revelation and heightened spiritual sensitivity. Follow Me in all things; I will never forsake you. Draw nigh, for I want to lead you in all things, even into new territories. But you must first trust Me, or else you will sink as Peter did on the waves. I want to reveal My glory to you and through you, but I can only do this when you exhibit and practice strong faith in Me and in My ability to do all things well.
Blessings be upon you as you arise even this day to view your surroundings through spiritual eyes. Ask Me to show you the significance of your present place as it relates to your eternal calling. I'll reveal it to you, for I gave it to you. You will not be able to contain what I have in store for you. Practice for it now. Praise Me hilariously! Think, pray, and meditate like you have possessed the land, for truly, I have given it to you; it will be manifested in My time. Wait upon Me; I have it all in control. Rest in Me. Know My love, feel My love for you, share My love with others.
Chapter 18. Royal Standards: Go Forth to Possess the Land
Don't be afraid to expect the very best. I have called you to the best, and I have set it aside for you. Now is your time to go forward, walk into the land which I have promised you, and put your feet on the soil to possess the land. Go forth in victory and assurance in Me, knowing that I go before you as your banner, and that I cover you in My armor. You will truly find favor as you journey into a new place I am calling you to. I delight to bless you as you walk in obedience to My laws. It blesses Me to see you obey me with rejoicing - isn't it a glorious state of being?
I am making you, molding you, and shaping you in My image. Continue to yield, and the results will indeed be glorious. As you draw nearer to me, I am drawing nearer to you. I long to be even closer - come!!! I will never leave nor forsake you. I will protect you. I will prepare a table for you in the presence of your enemies. Your cup will run over, for surely My goodness and mercy endure forever, and they shall follow you, and you shall dwell in My house all the days of your life.
Come on up a little higher, daughter! Don't stop now; this is only the beginning. Every step of yours is ordered by Me, so follow My lead. Stick close to Me under My shadow and be sheltered and safe from all hurt, harm, or danger. Fear not, for I am with you. I am your constant companion, and I care so much for you. I have you in the palm of My hand. See that your every thought, word, and deed glorifies me. If it doesn't glorify Me, don't think, say, or do it! This is not a suggestion, and it is not open to interpretation. I mean what I say when I say, touch not the unholy thing. I have called you to a strict standard because I will only have a pure and holy Bride, not a "mostly clean" Bride with a couple of blemishes.
I move you to be a blessing, so prepare to put your hands to the plow and to work in My Name. You will lift high My banner, and you will exude My light, which is a result of remaining and abiding in My presence. You are learning, but there is yet more to learn. As you press in, My presence will become even greater in your life. I want to take first priority in your life; I am a jealous God. Worship Me in spirit and in truth and know Me. Learn My ways and love My laws and precepts, for they are for your own good. Teach others of My greatness, of My love for them, and of the coming tribulation. Sound the alarm, for behold, I come quickly.
Prepare My people. Prepare My people so they will be ready to receive Me. Point them to Me. Remain humble and exemplify Me in holiness. I give you a new, fresh anointing to go forth and carry out that which I am calling you to do. In yourself, you are not able to be holy, for there is no good thing in flesh. But in Me, you will be able to stand, for I am your strength and your strong tower. I am the One with the mighty right hand that will save all who call upon Me.
The time is short; discern the time and season, and work diligently. Do not grieve the Spirit; make sure that you always consult His guidance and direction. Lean not to your own understanding. I will sharpen your spiritual eyes as you study My Word, seek My face, and feast upon Me. I am faithful to fulfill every promise unto My chosen ones. You are precious in My sight, and your humility allows Me to rise within you. There really is room for only one leader in your life; I want to be the One. Allow Me to give you what I know is best for you.
I am pouring out My Spirit upon all flesh. I will use you to bring healing, life, and love into individuals' situations. Did you not think there was a purpose for you hearing the sermon on speaking to dry bones? Your faith coupled with My power can yield awesome results. Are you ready to receive? Give, give, give to My people who hunger and thirst for My Word. Ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and the door shall be opened unto you. The King's table is spread before you; enter in!
Chapter 19. Standing on His Promises: Be Steadfast and Unmovable
Stand on My promises. Hold fast to My promises. Be steadfast in My promises to you. You've received numerous confirmations (and Mine is the one that counts), so stand. Now it's time for you to watch Me work miracles on Your behalf.

Part II – The Inner Court
Chapter 20. Willing to Pay the Price: The Cost of Obedience, The Reward of Love
Let go! Take your hands completely off so I can move and bring forth the full manifestation of My glory. You are attempting to put together an amalgamation of methods for "getting Me to move," when really all I want is your love, adoration, praise, and worship. If you love Me, then you'll obey Me. As you try to figure Me out and guess how I'm going to work a situation for your good (even though I just require that you trust that I can and will work it out for your good), you only do more to perplex yourself – because your human mind cannot comprehend the things of God.
Meet me in the Spirit, and there I shall be found. My face is glorious, and I want to share that with you, but first you must be willing and receptive to Me when I identify the things in you that are hindering you from getting closer to Me. What are you holding on to that won't let you advance to the next level in faith? Fear, anxiety, doubt, unbelief, worry, stress, frustration, discontentment, restlessness – these are not of Me.
Breakthrough is coming. Lean on Me. Trust Me. Depend solely on Me. Stop trying to make your own way. Focus on Me. Seek ye first My kingdom, and I will add all these things unto you. It really isn't what it seems. What you see with your natural eye is not what it appears to be. Allow Me to protect you and shield you from what lies ahead. By the same token, I will lead you forth into victory.
It's not by might, nor by power, but it's by My Spirit! I appreciate and receive your commitment to have My praise in your mouth all day long, but you see that the power is not yours to bring that to fruition. Only the Spirit can empower you supernaturally to rise above your circumstances and situations.
Will you abandon all at any cost to follow Me? The Holy Spirit can help prepare you to say "yes" to this question without hesitation. Count the cost (Luke 14:28) and you will see that it is worth your every sacrifice to gain the eternal kingdom. You still need to slow down, My child. In spite of your lamentations of few earthly friends, you've still planned and organized your own schedule.
I allowed external distractions to be removed or diminished so that you would have the time to build your relationship with Me. One does not just jump into a marriage. One cultivates a relationship from meeting, to courtship, to the marriage act, to dwelling with one another. You wouldn't expect to meet the one I have purposed for you to be joined with in matrimony and have him "pop the question" to you without you first knowing him. You must really know Me before I can present you as the Bride to My Son, Jesus Christ.
How do you get to know Me? Linger in My presence. When you think you've spent enough time with Me, spend more. When your flesh would want to spend time in another way, put it under subjection and purpose in your heart to draw near to Me, and I will reward you greatly and richly. Come boldly before the throne - don't be timid, for I love you immensely. I am beautifying you, and I have made you in My image. Because you are of Me, and because My Son is interceding for you constantly, you have My undivided attention. If you will listen attentively, you'll hear what the Spirit has to say in every situation, no matter how big or small it may seem.
Be led of Me. Have you ever really let yourself go? Have you ever surrendered control, or have you always kept that one area that you thought only you could direct because your hands were on it? No, the songs you write won't be trite anymore (if they ever were to you). They will have greater meaning because you are going through. This is what it means to go through – to come to the end of yourself and to realize that you do not have the answers in yourself. As you throw yourself on Me and present yourself on My altar as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable in My sight, then I will begin to move in your life. Yes, you are learning many lessons, including patience and how to wait on Me. Not just to wait, but I'm teaching you how to wait on Me – occupy till I come, rejoice, pray, and use the weapons of warfare that are mighty to the pulling down of strongholds.
Complete trust and absolute dependence on Me is part of humbling yourself. When you feel that you are able to make something happen or impact a situation's outcome, that is a display of pride, which is in blatant opposition to My lordship. Continue to serve others and humble yourself – you will find great glory in meekness and longsuffering.
“How long?” you ask. I will continue to reveal Myself to you as you draw near to Me. Your steps truly are ordered by Me. If you will be responsive, I will give you direction the moment before you are required to act; only trust Me. That is what's so dynamic about the walk of faith – you are required to rely wholly on Me as your Source, the Author and Finisher of your faith. Let go of your preconceived notions, elaborate plans, schemes, and formula so you can move forward with Me. If you don't, you will remain in your current state. Move with the cloud! Get caught up in My love - it will intoxicate and exhilarate you! Share My love with others and come back to Me for more. I am preparing you for greatness.
Even as you exercised your muscles today at the gym, you learned that the ones you hadn't paid attention to were still there and that they were still capable of accomplishing the tasks required to complete the workout. So it goes with your spiritual gifts. You have heavenly treasures in an earthen vessel, and just because you don't always see it doesn't mean it's not there! If you work on exercising the gifts over a period of time, it's not so difficult when you're called upon to use them. However, if you are a slothful and lazy sluggard, when you have to endure a particularly strenuous workout, you may find your strength failing and your endurance waning. Let Me build you up with My Word so that you will be an overcomer and more than a conqueror. Be faithful to build your skills, talents, friendships, relationships, and My kingdom.
Chapter 21. Moving Forward: Maturity
Get ready to move with the cloud because I'm taking you up higher, even this very day, My daughter. Continue to seek (to search for; endeavor to obtain or reach; to try) My face and to know My heart, and I will reveal to you treasures untold. The center of My will is where you want to be. I am ordering your steps so that you can quickly take your rightful place, seated in Heavenly places (II Corinthians 4:7).
Return to the place where your creativity flourished, where your soul was watered, and seeds that had been planted long before burst forth in full bloom. Grow, mature, and develop. Move forward in Me with My leadership, guidance, and direction. I am wisdom and understanding, so My gifts are at your disposal. I will continue to nurture you; look to Me first as your Source.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. You've been hoping for an opportunity to make a positive contribution, an impact on the community and on My kingdom – well, here it is! Will you proceed with Me? Will you allow Me to lead you into what I've had for you all along but you weren't able to fathom or grasp until this appointed moment in time? Don't think about what you'll be leaving behind (like Lot's wife in Genesis 19:17-26), for I've got it all in control. Set your sight only on walking in My continual favor, grace, mercy, and lovingkindness. You have already obtained it, but you must remain obedient and submitted, never taking off with what you think are your own ideas. I have plans to prosper you (Jeremiah 29:11-14).
This is our journey now – yours and mine. Just like you wouldn't go back and tell the in-laws everything going on between newlyweds, know that I am your Husband, so we don't need to “go back home” to get permission. I am your covering, so you must submit to me instead of seeking approval from those who are familiar with you. Your parents are still there for you, and I wouldn't want you to be alone in the earth, but you must do this for Me and for the purposes of building My kingdom.
Chapter 22. Enduring the Process of Being Developed
A photograph is more valuable after it is developed. The negative contains the recorded image, but the image is not visible until it is developed. You know what's on the inside, but you can't see it. You know that something of beauty is inside that black box, but you have to take it to the shop to someone trained and skilled in developing photographs in order to get the desired end result.
So it is with you, My child. I am developing you daily; it is an ongoing process, so don't open the cover too soon, or you'll ruin the film (representative of the treasures I have placed within you). The treasures I have placed in you are recorded inside, but they are not visible. They will not be visible until I develop you. If you wait on Me, you'll see that what is developed is made in My image. Yes, I want you to look just like Me. We are getting ready for the family photo, so that when you stand next to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, those looking upon the picture will be able to see the strong family resemblance - why yes, that child certainly does look like her Father, and her Brother, too!
Once I've developed you, I will enrich you and adorn you with jewels. I can't put jewels on a work-in-progress, but on a developed product, I can put My finishing touches. Everything will occur on My timetable, in My perfect order, at its appointed time. As you wouldn't put icing on a cake before baking it (icing is good, but not before its time), I won't put the sparkle and shine on you until I've finished the sculpting work.
Why paint something that hasn't been shaped or sanded? It would be futile. True enough, the paint covers up what lies beneath the surface. But the value of that object would be diminished to all who knew the quality of what was under the coat of paint. No illusions – I'm creating the real thing. I'm making sure that your substance, the true essence of your very being, is the real thing. I'm not going to allow you to dress up the outside when what's beneath is filthy. So I'm starting from the inside out. Be of good cheer; we are making progress together. Endure! You are in My will. I love you too, child.
Chapter 23. Choosing to Leave the Past Behind
Cut it! I am removing and changing your relationships in order to reorder your life aright. If you are unwilling to let go of the old, how can I usher in the new (according to My promises)? I don't want the wrong people you find yourself around or situations you find yourself in to drain you unnecessarily. Just as a dog returns to its vomit – don't go back once I've delivered you. This applies to habits, ways of thinking, and relationships. Obey and prosper, or disobey and pay the consequence. The choice is yours.
Total obedience and surrender is required and is the standard measure as you walk toward fulfilling My purpose for you. Some people will not be happy or excited for you, let alone supportive of you. I will protect you from them or any harm they may seek to cause, but you must do your part by first being completely obedient to Me. I will show you the people who will support your purpose, vision, mission, and values.
A negative has the color pattern reversed from what appears in the photograph, so what it looks like to you will come out exactly the opposite. I am tweaking some things in you and for you right now, doing some adjusting. Whether you identify them as major or minor adjustments is a matter of your perspective. I view it as developing you. It's like a difference of water showing up green, green-blue, blue-green, or blue. Yes, it's still water, but it's easier to identify when it's in order, and in My creative order, water is blue. I'm setting things the way they should be – in order.
Don't get distracted from your main task at hand: knowing Me, loving Me, worshipping Me. I am very near, even when you can't feel Me. My love is not based on your feelings; it is constant and never-changing and ongoing and endless. Taste and see! Come to the fountain and drink deeply - you'll need it as the battle intensifies. Yesterday's manna will not be sufficient to nourish you for today. I have fresh revelation for you each and every day if you ask, seek, and knock. I am here for you; can you say the same thing? Work to remain faithful and consistent.
“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ” (I Peter 1:7). I was feeling rather sorry for myself one evening when I stumbled upon this passage of Scripture. Quite honestly, I wasn’t thinking about any praise, honor, or glory for Jesus – all I could moan and groan about was how hot this fiery trial was and wondering how much longer I had to stay in before I could emerge as precious gold. The Word has a way of finding me right where I am!
The trial of your faith is precious. Your victory is in your song. Sing, sing, and sing some more! Whenever you feel down or discouraged, sing a song to Me, about Me, for Me. Sing a song in the Spirit. Sing from the depths of your innermost being; you will find the music of the spheres is at your core. Song is not only for when you are happy, joyful, and rejoicing. It is good for you all the time, and it is a key to your breakthrough. Praise Me at all times, and watch Me work on your behalf. Get intimate with the Psalms. There is a song for every season. Use the Word in song; it is a powerful and mighty weapon for pulling down of strongholds.
I am teaching you a lesson in humility. Although you are able to do so much more than you are doing now in the company, I have allowed you to be in a position of low esteem with relatively little glory so you would be able to identify with Me. I walked in Jerusalem as the Savior of the Earth, yet not many recognized that I held all power in My right hand. They just didn't realize! By the same token, My child, you have many treasures inside that the people around you now are just unable to see or receive. My very own people chose not to receive Me, although I was right in their midst. Rejoice that you have been chosen to identify with Me. I am beautifying and perfecting you in My image. Fear not; I have not forsaken you.
