Simple Knit Cuff with Large Button

An interesting shaped cuff with an arrowhead design, increases and decreases. Make it longer and/or wider for a coffee cup cozy!

Level

Intermediate- increase, decrease

Size

5.5 inches long, 2.5 inches wide. This is a fairly small wrist size (I have tiny wrists!)

Yarn

20 yards aran weight handspun or another interesting yarn

Materials

-Size #8/5mm needles or size to get gauge

-Tapestry needle

-1 inch button

-Needle and thread to secure button

Gauge

4 stitches per inch in pattern

Notes

Make longer by knitting more length before the decreases. To make wider add an extra stitch at beginning and end.

Yarn: for the pattern to show up a fairly smooth yarn is best, thick and thin handspun yarns may not show the pattern very well. Be sure to use a yarn that you can wear next to the skin if you are going to wear this!

Double Yarn Over- on the wrong side row knit in to the first YO and purl in to the second.

Abbreviations

YO- yarn over

YO twice- Yarn over twice (2 stitches increased)

SSK- Slip slip knit (1 stich decreased)

SSSK- Slip slip slip knit (2 stitches decreased)
