The month in summary
Woo hoo! It's that time of year again....Valentine's Day. When lovers sigh sweet nothings and we're all supposed to be gooey in love. I’m so excited, I can barely wait for the bouquet of red roses to reach my door. But wait...
What is that I see in my planetary ephemeris? There’s a planetary roadblock in front of us and it’s got the words "look out" blazoned right across it. Of all the days for the Moon to oppose Pluto I was really hoping that it wouldn’t be this one, but it is, and seeing how it’s a planetary power-game I’d rather miss out on, I thought I should give you the heads-up.
Don't get me wrong, for some of us the evening of 14th February is going to be simply great. Possibly the most intense, blow-your-mind type of romance you've ever had. Yet, tangled up in all that explosive hormonal chemistry are some of the deepest, most complex emotions ever known to mankind. And what is no. 1 at the top of my "danger" list? Jealousy and insecurity.
Ah yes, the green eyed monster is back with a vengeance and it could start as soon as Venus changes signs on the 5th and will probably hang around until at least the 18th. Signs most likely to be effected include Aries, Cancer, Libra, Scoprio, and Capricorn. Now Pisces, you may struggle a little too, but it's your partner who's insecure, not you.
So what should you do if you are feeling a little wobbly around the edges? Remember this important astro-bylaw: “It will all look different next month”. Resist sneaking a peak at your lover’s emails, or hounding them over the phone. Instead, talk to a friend, write in your journal, or play sport. Just take your mind off things. These feelings of insecurity are very temporary and before you know it, “poof!” they’ll be gone.
Those of you who are single, thank your lucky stars! In fact, single Taurus, Libra, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces you are looking seriously sexy right now. My bet is you’ll be positively fighting off all the attention. There’s a magnetism about you that is simply irresistible and as long as you don’t hide away at home, I really don’t think you’ll have any problems at all getting that special someone to agree to a dinner date.
In other astro news, the end of the month (20th onwards) is positively booming with "go get it" ambitious energy. If you're hungry for success, that's the time to be sending out those job applications or asking for a raise. Some of us will get seriously stuck into a home renovation project at this time too, and it’s no mean feat. It’s not for you to just repaper one room, oh no, you’ve decided to knock down ten walls in the process, haven’t you?! Anyone with Jupiter prominent in their chart is particularly effected and that includes (but is not limited to): Cancer, Sagittarius and possibly Pisces.
Last but not least, let me not forget Gemini, Leo, Virgo and Aquarius. On 20th February, a funny planetary rendezvous sends your imagination sky high and sees you either bursting with creative and artistic ideas or struggling with confused and unclear thinking. You may find yourself fighting to break free of a situation that you find constrictive and this could lead to problems if you take the dishonest way out. My advice? Do the smart thing, and go and write a story or draw a picture instead.

♈ Aries (21st March to 20th April)
Don't let anger at a friend or colleague spoil what could otherwise be a positive month for you. Petty disputes, imagined fears or power games have the potential to distract you this month from what really matters. Instead, try to keep your eye on the ball. Jupiter - the planet of growth and expansion - is in your sign until June so now really is the time to be focusing your energies on your future and not the things that seem to be holding you back.
♉ Taurus (21st April to 21st May)
Powerful, passionate feelings erupt from your subconscious making both your dream life and your waking life vivid and colorful. Whether it's a person, an object or an idea that holds your fascination, your feelings about it are intense. Do not allow yourself to become too obsessed but do not deny the reality of these feelings either. Instead, positively express this energy by talking to colleagues, sharing ideas with loved ones, or writing a beautiful song. These are not feelings that should be hidden but nor should they be used for ill or aggressive means either.
♊ Gemini (22nd May to 21st June)
Confused and clouded thinking has your heart racing towards the end of the month when you realize you've misunderstood a situation or a person's intentions. This is not so surprising because the other person has not been as upfront about things as perhaps they should have been. This potentially embarrassing situation leaves you wishing you could just hide or disappear, but on the plus side, you also realize things could have been a whole lot worse. Clear, honest communication is not so easy to come by this month but do the best you can.
♋ Cancer (22nd June to 23rd July)
Never one to turn down a challenge, you're not just focused on earning some extra money right now, you're also thinking about the big $$$ you're going to need in the future. Now, more than ever, your financial security is of the upmost importance to you. There is nothing you hate more than not knowing how predictable your income is going to be and so, this February, the astro-forces are with you as you try to get some concrete promises out of your boss or a business partner. The end of the month is better than the beginning for difficult conversations - particularly if you are seeking a new loan or mortgage.
♌ Leo (24th July to 23rd August)
Leo, I sympathize, I really do. You've been under so much pressure during the last few months and now you're in the midst of your cosmic winter, when the sun is at its further point from your sign. You must be longing for some warm and light to come into your life. Well, don't lose hope just yet. A full moon in your own sign is bringing a difficult situation to a close; one connected to a partner or an ex. Your feelings have been strong and complex at times but now you are finally able to let them go and move on. This is good news as in June, a new beginning or a fresh start awaits.
♍ Virgo (24th August to 23rd September)
Listen to your big ideas and get busy Virgo! This is a great month to focus all your energies on a work project that involves writing, travel or some form of communication. Exciting and creative astro energies are giving you the mental juice to work non-stop for long periods without even really noticing you're tired and that's definitely something to take advantage of! Physically, you should be in good form so unless there's something in your individual chart that is counteracting this, you should be glowing from good health. So don't hold back, for fear of losing sleep, when you have a brilliant idea at 3 in the morning. This is one month when your health can take it.
♎ Libra (24th September to 23rd October)
It's not like you to feel all out of sorts in a jealous or insecure type way, but as Venus gets cozy with Pluto mid-month, you may find yourself feeling all kinds of strange and complex emotions. It's hard to know exactly how it will play out but a friend flirting just a bit too hard with your partner or person of fancy is one very real possibility. Alternatively, it may be you who is the object of another's attention and it's your partner who seems to be taking exception to this. You are after all looking particularly attractive right now and you never do find it all that hard getting a date, do you? Try to not to rock the boat this month by doing anything deliberatively provocative. Emotions will be much calmer in March.
♏ Scorpio (24th October to 22nd November)
Words are flying fast this month Scorpio but whether they're ones of sizzling passion or a hot bad temper, it's up to you. Never one to feel happy when you're not in control, that's exactly what you face as someone at home decides to stir up your emotions. Whether it's your teenage daughter wearing an inappropriate outfit, your husband or wife surprising you with a very naughty idea, or a close friend taking a fancy to your date for the night, you can be sure you will have an emotional response. Like I say, this could be a month of increased passion and romance but if it seems to be spiraling into hot tempers and nasty words...remember my advice and go and take walk to cool down instead.
♐ Sagittarius (23rd November to 22nd December)
You don't know what you've done to deserve it but suddenly you're getting a lot more attention than you were. If you're free and single then make the most of this trend by lining up as many dates as you can! Those who are committed to a loved one can rejoice in the rejuvenation this happy astro-energy has bought to your relationship. There is much potential to grow or improve your love life, but also to have children or to make new friends. So if you've been trying for a baby unsuccessfully, you might want to see if you strike lucky this month!
♑ Capricorn (23rd December to 20th January)
At last! Sweet and beautiful Venus is gracing your sign with some seriously sexy vibes. No longer are you to be the serious practical one, this month you can really let your inner star sparkle. February is a good month for you to review your old wardrobe throwing out any items you don't wear anymore, get a snazzy new haircut or to simply hang out in all the "it" places waiting for others to come to you. Single Goats will find their chat-up lines more popular than ever whilst committed Goats will love being in their partners good books for once.
♒ Aquarius (21st January to 19th February)
Confusion over your financial position and arguments with loved ones are not giving you the easiest February you could have hoped for. However, your energy levels are high and your ability to speak exactly what is on your mind is better than ever. Make the most of helpful Mars, to build bridges, not burn them and think about what you'd most like to achieve in the year ahead. There's a lovely new moon in your sign (2nd) that promises a fresh start and busy times ahead.
♓ Pisces (20th February to 20th March)
Where have your dreams been leading you the last seven years? This is the last month that Uranus will be in Pisces for the rest of your lifetime. Make the most of this extraordinary energy to reassess your life and goals. Dig deep down inside of yourself to find out what you really hope to achieve for the rest of your life and try to remember if this path you're on was the path you always intended to take (or did you get lost somewhere)? This might mean you look backwards first, before you take a step forward.
