AMORPHOUS

ANGELIC

You are my invisible friend who understands

Come, take my hand,

I'm your invisible friend who understands.

When you fly so high,

How did you expect them to understand?

You see, they never ever left the land,

They never ever left the land,

Come, fly with me,

I'm your invisible friend who understands.

(In the early 80's, Jacqueline Howett sang this to a tune on her daily walks with her two Pekinese dogs during her celibate years as a writer at her typewriter while living in the suburbs of London.

Amorphous Angelic, selected poems are metaphysical poems of wisdom, death, rebirth, and the inner workings of the soul’s journey. They are also thirty four selected poems of love, inspiration, wonder, visions, hope, faith and connecting to the higher self as well as with the sad & strange, to elevating out of darkness to reveal the mystery of life that cover an important time factor in my life as a poet, between 1980-1985, and have remained my most memorable as they become my last link with old England before moving to America. Most were written during 1983 in a time of celibacy, while jotting down very rough notes to Cass, for a novel,

Enjoy.

Dedicated to my Father.

LESLIE WILLIAM HOWETT.

Dad, Thanks for your visit to me in the USA this

March 2001. After not having seen you in more than

twenty years - Wow, it gave me great pleasure

to be able to have this book printed in time to

give to you as a gift.

Your loving daughter Jacqueline.

(Keep shining).

Since my first visit from my father in

Portland, Maine in 2001, I have since had

two more visits from him in Florida.

INTO MY FLESH THE FACE OF REALITY

Into my flesh, the face of reality,

Through history, the tale of faith, is told,

Haunted by a new word, ‘Integrity,’

To follow suit, dares me to be so bold.

Bright light, whatever fate maybe,

I do not think God leaves the blessed out in the cold,

Through death and time, love radiates holy,

Much greater is life upon that fresh hold.

HOW MANY BUTTERFLIES CAN YOU BE

How many butterflies can you be?

To show that I'm eternity,

Flying colors for all to see,

So that I may know, God lives in me.

For a little while I'll live then die,

And return anew next season

For all to sigh, (Repeat verse above)

Did I really live?

Did I really die?

And all I see, but a lie?

My precious butterfly,

No one can say we didn't try.

THE GREATNESS OF LOVE

The greatness of love,

How many really know such essence?

The strangest feeling is when hitting the reality of it all,

Each and every love, is so different,

Yet love still the same, in its different shapes and forms

Love always seems to grow into something more intense

than the last one,

Who will be next, I wonder.

Maybe its just life itself that is becoming so,

It’s a wonderful feeling in all its emptiness.

After speaking something of love, what of hate.

Those confused moments that make you wonder of the word love,

It can over power you, to distort that simple word or feeling

Within the interplay of other forces.

IS EXISTENSE TO REACH THE HIGHEST POWER?

Is existence to reach the highest power?

But here I add, no power at all,

If one looses himself in achieving the limits.

The game is finished,

And greed begins.

Bondage to material power.

The secret:

A new and more exciting game begins,

With keeping, the power attained.

BEING IN OUR TIME WITH LIFE WHICH REMAINS

Being in our time with life which remains,

Sudden death we greet inside our fragile frames,

New seeds of life are death to higher planes,

Nobody wished before to have explained,

To counteract our existence with death,

This material corpse, our body frames,

Comes this magic ‘life’ which it contains,

In the cosmic state without the desire,

To acknowledge universal loving,

With life and death, new seeds grow to show,

And all that’s required of our minds to know,

Death is the step in our many lives in breath,

In one body we meet there many times,

And life goes on and out once like a star.

THE ICE MELTED MAKING DEATH TO PASS THROUGH

The ice melted making death to pass through,

Mingled in life with breath at ease again,

A new thought born free,

Earth bound steps to hearts flow,

Upon a new face with mourning broken,

A message is carried through the air,

To the river where love now echoes,

Images seen there return to the sea,

And foretells bridges of life yet to cross,

Visions seen there came through from dreams,

Marking time, we make a note of its distance,

For journeys, yet to make in life we know,

To shake hands with death and see our image,

For new life with higher spheres we must take,

Standing upon the earths new grave-yard,

To see the universe awake within,

No longer to be deceived through death,

Now old ideas are born evolving fresh,

With death around about us, for human thoughts to seer,

To greater depths and spheres to hold within space.

THE AWARENESS OF THIS HEAVENLY BREATH

The awareness of this heavenly breath,

These bones stand upon earth in mortal flesh,

Upon a deceitful vain world to fret,

For those pure in heart who stray upon life’s steps,

Are taken through the wind it hopes to set within,

To discover our emptiness.

Bones rattle and shake around a soul,

Showing purpose stays amidst fragile frames,

Spirits rest and take renewed life, blessed.

Upon a way, a spark of light glimmers,

It returns to walk upon earths chosen quest,

Casting out cravats where demons make nest,

Bearing amidst the flesh, a crest of holiness,

Radiates a touch upon those in stress,

With spirits that struggle through life’s darkness,

Holds faith with souls amidst the vastness,

Waiting to be comforted through being,

A movement contemplates human kindness,

Bringing Gods powerful plans to rejoice,

With the bliss of heaven who comforts,

Stars explode to bring ripples of news to our ears,

And the universe delights.

LOOKING BEYOND THIS RIVER FROM DEATH’s FACE

Looking beyond this from death’s face,

A clear pure warm sun is reaching out upon new life,

From distant lands, its echo is carried.

Buzzing new life is near to tread once more,

Unhindered by its touch, this sun gives warning,

Distant new life looks upon steps in breath,

Upon healing scars warms this living flesh,

As marks of wisdom upon folly,

Cautious steps made are felt upon the heart,

Knowing the sun, moon and stars meet life as death,

Bravely walking through aware, unmasked,

Reveals a fret not to be feared,

As deaths parade lurks about everywhere,

For it knows it carries you out of darkness,

That which bravely endured life’s countless mistakes,

To reveal a true face, although grown rigid and tight,

Is born again, transformed in holy glory,

Reflecting self onto a mask that fits.

MARKING WAYS THE SOULS BREATH WILL DWELL

Marking ways the soul’s breath will dwell,

No longer to hold life in fear,

Through the darkest abyss the light of life seers,

To earths paradise,

Human souls are released,

Returning to tread the new persona,

With spiritual glory in the flesh.

FROM OUT OF THE CLOUDS REIGNS A HAND WITH LOVE

From out of the clouds reigns a hand with love,

Emerging to flow in the depths of life,

Holds firmly in strength the wisdom offered,

Inspired from the growth and fruits of nature,

Contemplates this seed of growth to tend,

Towards labor for order and progress,

Higher spheres it bids to seek in flesh,

Demanding to know this power that rests,

Who reveals the universe in us so blessed.

TO WHOM THIS RHYTHM OF OUR HEARTS SPEAKS?

To whom this rhythm of our hearts speaks?

To whom the river of our hearts to seek?

Amidst the empty shell now peaceful sleep,

No longer, flow the tears on earth to weep,

A new beginning, a new peak to reach,

The struggles upon upward climbs who greets?

And this revealing light beneath my feet,

Each step knows we have crossed a timeless fleet.

THERE I SEEK YOU ALONG YOUR WAY

There I seek you along your way,

A troubled heart no longer say,

You did your best in those dread times,

And now you rest in heavens chimes,

Gone has the wind of yesteryear,

Far in the echoes that you seer,

Another hand awaits your love,

Through passing clouds appears a dove,

With a message from above.

HEAVEN KEEPERS WATCH MORTAL STEPS

Heavens keepers watch mortal steps,

Elevating goodness into each breath,

And looks on upon ways of foolishness,

Now aware when you slip and fall in vain,

With luring thoughts with the material plane,

Discreetly brings new life with hope to rest,

And light amidst your sight to bless.

IMMORTALITY’S FOUNTAIN.

Beyond mountain tops I did reach,

To a new world I did greet,

No fairer plains did I ever meet,

To challenge my wits as a passing fleet,

Oh! What treasures you now reveal,

Such splendor alone, secrets seal,

No man can utter what we feel,

Hearts true glory and soul that’s real.

We freeze, yet move beyond the speed of light,

To experience alone gifts of sight,

Seering forever higher above the clouds,

Gone the illusions out of the shrouds.

With the truth ‘one’ experiences alone;

And here the spiral from a timeless zone,

We end the story to the unknown,

Knowing its ‘faith’ that brings you home,

To immortality’s fountain.

TIME MEETS THE HEAVENS GLORY IN THE FLESH

Time meets the heavens glory in the flesh,

Struggling life of toil in the end so blessed,

Gladly walks comforted, in joy it rests.

Amorphous love to know amidst hosts of guests,

My heart echoes magic movements, and are heard

upon my chosen quest.

Amidst mortal flesh, the divine light blessed.

A GLIMPSE

A Glimpse they say is all we are allowed

With the secret’s of life. Like sudden flashes of

Lightning and as shutters of a camera lens.

“Ah-ha! A pin prick my dear fellow,

Reveals a clear picture.

“From the amorphous pupil of our soul is

Where we may look, listen and know.

Unraveled minds through the air upon

Speech, we listen to our hearts.

“And through that strange wild beast,

Uncontrolled, restless, venomous tongues speak,

Holding the power of words.

Exposing secrets with ourselves.

Your life dear fellow. Your life and others.

By perceiving all the good and bad is in all,

We develop into full bloom, to unravel our hearts secrets.

Revealing themselves like stains upon linen, or dust which

Accumulates.

“Secrets dear fellow-secrets.

“What are they when unraveled?

“Secrets no more you might say,

But my dear fellow;

It is no more than the truth we find so disappointing.

“No my friend, the lines upon a face cannot be masked for long,

As much as you stretch and pull to hide the facts of life.”

THE SEED OF LIGHT

The seed of light,

Is where you and I sit in heavens heart,

If only we could ponder more often,

Our existence as a seed,

That sits in the heart of God,

Then the unfolding stillness to our hearts, we would return.

And love will glow pure,

Radiating through the darkest abyss, within the mind.

Yes, the mind, no one should live in without its connection

to the light.

Which can only begin to be understood, starts in the heart,

A love uncontaminated by fleshy desires is true love.

To reach that stillness of pureness,

One must remember, they are a seed protected,

For you sit as a seed in the heart of God,

And to ponder this in stillness for a while,

Will reveal the light.

THE SHALL SEE WHAT I FORSEE.

Thy shall see what I forsee,

In our lives to come with me,

There lies a heavenly vision before my eyes,

That shall make new life arise,

Now you can see the wondrous, amorphous love,

Comes to you on wings,

More splendor than the dove,

This message for you it sings,

We came to show you from above,

This same glorious vision of splendor,

Do you remember?

They reveal their hearts gladly,

Here are the bells of your render,

Why now taken so sadly?

THE STATELY HOME WITHIN MY BREAST

The stately home within my breast,

And who wears the laurel wreath,

The crown of victory upon its crest,

Yields firmly aware, along this chosen quest,

Where vultures lurk for my flesh,

Disregarding the rest,

In all their cares, their only wish is to devour the flesh,

For my holy glory they know is wrapped up safe,

In the heights within,

So blessed.

WHAT YOU FEEL AS A DREAM

What you feel as a dream,

My heart opens to tell you the truth that lies

Amidst the dreams you know,

Upon this strange and irksome ground,

Lies the truth in her veils,

The wind carries her through,

To open lands and vales,

For you to know and feel,

Moving forever forward,

Amidst time prevails,

Hearken to the echo of love,

It has reached its mark in time,

And you are gladdened by eternal inspiration.

A LIFE OF PEACE YOU TRULY DID BRING

A life of peace you truly did bring,

A new contentment blessed within,

Through another season, birds will sing,

Assures me heavens bounty is under wing.

Wind sweeps autumn leaves to fall,

There’s news from the boughs,

in a robins chirping call,

A pure state of mind, I’m fine this way,

No longer feel the cold like others say,

Flickering light follows through my darkest day,

By faith emerged bright to warm my stay,

Conquered by the call to grace, we live and lay,

From this life of sin that no longer pay,

It seems my days are numbered I guess,

Marks from the arrow felt upon my breast,

Knows this power of life and death,

And here you see, if I do wrong,

Angels in heaven will call me along,

Victim of circumstance has now long gone,

They watch, giving us time to understand,

To know life on earth is the promise land.

Living life alone by the light of faith,

Is the rewarding challenge I must take.

EVERYBODY IS BUT THE STATION ALONG THE WAY

Everybody is but the station along the way,

Some bring your fate and map the day,

Not one person can bring you everything,

With many on the way,

Few will stay.

Maybe some you thought a life together would be,

Lead you on to tomorrow to make you see,

How this life of uncertainty,

Needs ‘faith’ continually.

ALREADY THROUGH TIME AND SPACE

Already through time and space,

Oh what a waste, what a waste.

Nothing left inside to face,

But the memories of how others felt,

Now I turned and turned my own,

I look how others turned,

Of their mistakes and what they learned.

Where they parted,

Where they started,

They weave a shape around my own,

With more to see and understand,

In this other land,

Where I am shown.

THE LAWS OF NATURE.

The laws of nature, how sweet you be,

Give us strength in thee,

And let us share your world in glory,

What you weave into my story,

Give us strength to see it through,

And make the waste come fresh anew,

Your works are many for the poor hand,

Let all the hungry in the land,

Know and share your glory,

Give us faith to know God’s plan

Is weaved into our story.

The music of the heart so sweet,

Receive your words so sadly,

Give us hope again to return

And help us meet,

Your kindness gladly,

After all, we have to learn.

Remove us from this ignorance soon upon the land,

And show our children a way,

Let us hear them say,

How there is enough for everyone,

Give us strength God to carry on,

Weaving this into their story.

UNTIL I REST IN JESUS

Until I rest in Jesus,

Until I rest in Jesus,

I’ll not sleep as tight,

Until I rest in Jesus,

To see him dressed in white,

My world is not so bright.

Until I rest in Jesus,

I hold no gift of sight,

I cannot see the light,

Until I rest in Jesus,

There is no peace this night.

HOLY WATERS, HOLY WATERS.

Following foot steps through the sand,

That lead on to the promise land,

Holding each other,

Hand in hand,

Were sing along to the band.

Holy Waters, Holy waters,

Cleanser of all life’s disorders,

What grace this is, you made us see,

Make us abide the way to be,

And point our state, heavenly.

Holy Waters, Holy waters,

Cleanser of all life’s disorders.

FAREWELL FIRST BLOOMS OF BEAUTY AND YOUTH

The dancer returns in visions,

To soothe a broken heart,

And brings love developed in ominous dreams,

In absents the dancer has grown and developed,

The dancer welcomes the dream in,

The dancer, oh how beautiful she dances,

It is her beauty of youth,

But with the master of all kingdoms,

For now she has attained the world,

She has attained her universal self.

She dances through mansions,

Magnificent pillars, spacious marble rooms of splendor,

She dances through them so beautifully.

She reaches the grand end room,

An orchestra is playing,

Male dancers join her all in white,

They circle around her,

She is dancing solo.

2nd Movement

Her white gown is glowing like fluorescent light,

Amidst a beautiful forest of romance.

Amidst the forest she meets the man of her dreams, cont:

FAREWELL FIRST BLOOMS OF BEAUTY AND YOUTH

cont:

He has a white horse,

He dances with her love.

After much chasing,

Delicately through trees together,

They reach a garden of light,

On a bridge together,

The lilies shine their reflected beauty

Upon the water.

The flow beds y the stone path are blooming radiantly,

And her face the radiant blossom.

She dances more beautifully than ever,

As she caresses his body.

Finally her love comes to understand her dream,

The dancer who wanted to dance,

And love who wanted to love, cont:

And beauty to forever blossom

Before her eyes with love.

How wonderful, he joins her there,

And shares her dream as her partner.

A dream comes true.

PRECIOUS MOMENTS SHARED WITH YOU.

Precious moments shared with you,

In the meadows,

heavenly dew.

I heard your word,

in light so true,

How this world works,

amidst all man,

To orders of a divine plan,

That cross into the promise land.

Through the gateways of time,

Beyond space to heavens chime.

About the Author

Amorphous Angelic, selected poems by Jacqueline Howett are Metaphysical poems of wisdom, death, rebirth, and the inner workings of the souls journey. They are also 35 selected poems of love, inspiration, wonder, visions, hope, faith and connecting to the higher self as well as with the sad & strange, to elevating out of darkness to reveal the mystery of life that cover an important time factor in the poets life between 1980-1985, and have remained her most memorable as they become the last link with old England before her moving to America. Most were written during 1983 in a time of celibacy, while jotting down very rough notes to Cass, to become a novel.

Jacqueline Howett was born in 1954 and educated in London, England. Her parents divorced when she was twelve years old. Her mother, Leila, a Greek lady, gave her the gift of another language. Her father, Leslie W. Howett, a naturalist and gifted artist who came from Kent, England met Leila while serving in the RAF in Greece. At sixteen, Jacqueline Howett began her own travels of the world as a dancer, and at eighteen began writing her autobiography living at sea while married to a Greek chief officer that later turned into her writing novels. Europe & America soon became her playground. Since 1989, she continued her writing living in the U.S.A, and became a US citizen in April 1993, in Tampa Florida. For twelve years, she settled in Maine before returning to Florida in 2002. "Amorphous Angelic" was written from 1983-1985 in London, England during her own rebirth while in a celibate/hermit repose. They remain her most memorable. Jacqueline began writing at a very young age. However, this was a time she seriously began to dedicate herself to her life’s works in a mature form, writing plays, poetry, and novels and reading the classics after reconnecting to her creative spirit within a state of celibacy through a death/rebirth experience, after the life of "Cass," her second novel that became the essence of these poems. Cass she hopes to publish in late 2011. There is also a third novel which began writing itself many years later while living in Florida and throughout the years she has continued to write poetry and paint. She also has various other works in the wings, along with plays, micro fiction, novellas and short stories. She published a micro fiction piece titled, The Next Take, in Alien Skin Magazine and her poems in Long story short Magazine during 2010 and forthcoming again in February 2011. Her first novel, The Greek Seaman, a seafaring adventure was published as an eBook with Amazon kindle and Smashwords in the Summer of 2010 and soon hopes to have it more widely available at other venues. Jacqueline expects to publish two more books of poems, titled, Sands of Time and My Greek Side. Cont:

From the Author

I hope you enjoyed my poems. I am glad to have finally published them as an eBook at the start of this New Year 2011. These poems seem to have crystallized themselves in a language from old school England where I wrote them. Since those times and living in America I noticed I am more free in the way I compose. I am looking forward to publishing my next two poetry books titled, Sands of Time, and My Greek Side. You can catch the updates on my website or blog. Cont:
