A storm touched down last night
And it threw things into perspective
I got a new lease on life
Now I plan to live the life I was born to live

But a near death experience has that effect
After the storm there was nothing left...
But the way the sky lit up
Reminded me that I made it another day

Bullets like hail
They came so close
Why was I spared
When the Lord called you home
That's the second time I've been left behind
Why is it that death seems so hard to find
I won't say that I'm suicidal
But you lived your life
Ten times better than I do
