Increase Your Credit Score By Knowing Your Credit Card Company Upload Dates
Have you ever wondered why your credit scores at all three credit bureaus are different? The reason is simple. Not every credit card company, or creditor you apply for credit with will pull your credit from Equifax, Transunion, or Experian. For example, a mortgage company will pull your credit from all three credit bureaus, also known as repositories, Equifax, Transunion, and Experian. An apartment company you apply to rent from typically uses the credit bureau located in their region. Being in property management, most apartment companies use Experian to pull credit from. Not all apartment companies pull from all three credit bureaus. If you are on the West Coast, companies typically use Transunion. On the East Coast companies generally use Equifax and in the Midwest companies use Experian. This information may have possibly changed since the Great Recession has changed a few policies, but has still worked for me and my credit clients. Another example is that companies will use credit bureaus they have an active account with. This credit bureau will provide the same level of service for the lesser price compared to the main three credit bureaus. Smaller credit bureaus each report to main credit bureaus even though you don’t hear anything about them. They do the same job as the main three but stay hidden away behind the scenes.
