Excerpt for RoPlox! A guide to Roblox by Thomas Oliver, available in its entirety at Smashwords

For all Roblox users.

Page 1: Signing up to Roblox.

Well. Here is a start off. Of course, as many website’s require you to, you have to sign up. So we’ll start you off here, and work along.

Now step one. Of course you need something to sign up for, so type in www.roblox.com and look at the ‘Member Login’ part of the page in a portrait rectangle view. Then, at the bottom of this rectangle, (not the sign in with Facebook) click ‘register.

Then a page should come up asking your month and year of birth, and your gender (male/female). Once you have picked your month and year of birth, and your gender, you may click next. Now there is quite a few fields you must type in. And to be clear enough, even on Roblox they tell you to put in a real address incase you forget your password, or username and so you can activate your account.

All you need to do on this page of the sign up is:

Enter a name for your Robloxian (an alphanumeric name) with 3-20 letters and numbers. Then enter a password for your Robloxian. Only you must know this password, and don’t make it something obvious like ‘asdf’ ‘qwerty’ or ‘password’.

Then enter your email, and an optional friend referrer. (if you got referred by someone, and you went on to buy builders club you and your friend would both get 400R$)

Also make sure you double-check your email for typo’s!

Page 2: What to do when I’ve signed up?

Well, now you’ve signed up, you need to get a-moving in the real Roblox world. Most of you are thinking now I’ve registered, what’s the good part in it?

Well the good part is all of this:

Robux

Tix

Building places

Personal servers (BC ONLY)

T-Shirts

Shirts

Pants

Customizing your character.

Playing games

Sword fighting

Gun fighting

And much more… Read on in this book to find out!

It’s a great life on Roblox…

Page 3: How do I verify my account?

This page is pretty easy. All you need is half a brain, and the valid email address we talked about before.

Step 1: Open your email account

Step 2: Check your inbox for a verification message from Roblox. If it’s not there, check your spam/junk box as hotmail, and GMAIL don’t like emails from custom domain email addresses.

Step 3: Click the link where it says: verify your account, (if this link doesn’t work, copy and paste it into your browser window)

Step 4: Choosing safe chat or super safe chat. Get your parent/carer to do this with you if you’re under 13.

Step 5: You will now receive a verified hat

You’re better verified…

Page 4: How to launch Roblox for a first time

Launching Roblox is easy. But it’s more complicated the first time as you have to download Roblox, and then if you’ve got any anti-virus on, every second it goes ‘Are you sure you would like to download Roblox’ or something on the similar lines of that. Never click ‘no I’m not sure I would like to download Roblox’ as your connection to Roblox via the internet will discontinue.

Always click yes if you ever get this notice at the bottom (don’t click yes if you don’t want it!) Just make sure your administrator will not mind

All you need to do is make sure you never click no. And make sure you save a copy of Roblox to your Start menu.

If you would like to take advantage of Roblox, drag Roblox Studio and Play Roblox to your desktop from your Start Menu.

You’re always better connected…

Page 5: Ahh! Someone is being mean to me on Roblox!

Well apart from telling your mum (what you learnt in Year 3) what else is there to bullying online?

On Roblox we have a report button. Unlike other internet sites, Roblox put’s children’s safety before anything.

Say someone was calling you a ‘Fat Pig’ all you need to do is click Menu in the left hand corner, and then click ‘report’

Select the person’s name you would like to report, select what they did, and explain it as full as possible.

However. If it’s you getting reported, Roblox may to this to you:

Ask you to re-consider your actions

Ask you to leave Roblox for 1day to an IP ban

Or you could get a warning (like a yellow card, get 2 then you’re off!)

How is loyalty bonus calculated?

Reese Mar-21

Each month that you are in Builders Club your loyalty factor will increase. If your Builders Club expires then the loyalty factor resets to zero - so don't quit!

The loyalty bonus is a percentage of your daily stipend - it's not a fixed amount.

Example of someone who has 1.5x bonus:
BC - 15 stipend + 23 bonus per day
TBC - 35 stipend + 53 bonus per day
OBC - 60 stipend + 90 bonus per day

You just multiply the stipend times the x to find out how big the bonus is. The bigger the stipend, the bigger the bonus.
