Poems, a Collection of Thoughts, Feelings and Ideas
By Kaylee Soderburg
GONE
Darkness
swirls,
The mist binds.
I am enveloped,
The night wins.
I
can't fight,
I can't see.
The world is gone,
It's just me.
CONFLICTING
I
am
Lost.
I won't be
Found.
It
is
Dark.
I
won't find the
Light.
I have
Fear.
It won't become
Hope.
I am
Gone.
I won't be
Saved.
HUNTED
Run like the wind,
Run
fast,
You know you'll never win.
You're not safe,
It's
right behind you.
Run all you want,
It'll always find you.
You will hide,
It will seek.
You can fly,
But it will
see.
Do what you want,
But you will never be safe,
It will
always find you,
One day.
DARK
LURES
The
shadows that creep across the world,
Carving and covering the
light.
Shadowing the good,
And destroying the bright.
Singing
and luring
Us into the night.
Beware of the haunting
songs,
That draw us away from ourselves,
That darken our
souls,
And make us one with the shadows.
FLICKERING
EMBER
My
flames are flickering,
I cannot relight.
It's over,
I must
except defeat.
But I will not,
The fire within me burns,
On
the firewood of hope.
I will create light,
In the darkness,
I
will shine.
I will not be extinguished.
I will continue with
life.
ONE'S
DEMONS
My
heart beats quick,
My sword heavy.
My enemies stretch,
Near
and far.
I am alone here,
Alone in my battlefield.
I must
fight the demons alone.
And free myself,
From their grasps.
THE
LOST
The
mists,
They swirl,
They swallow me,
I can't even find
myself.
I'm lost,
I'm gone,
It's engulfed me,
Where
am I now?
I open my eyes
And see You,
Shining like a
bright sun.
I step out of the darkness
And into Your light.
I am
found.
The Mind Game
Your mind has a way of knowing,
More than you.
What do you think dreams are?
It’s your mind playing games,
Trying to see what you hide,
Deep down,
What you feel,
What you want,
What you need.
Dreams are your mind’s way of communication,
You tell you want you don’t want to know,
Or have forgotten.
It’s the mind’s way of testing you,
To see if you can unlock its game.
All dreams come from somewhere,
Your mind can’t make things up.
Sometimes you will dream,
Of that movie you saw,
Or maybe that old friend,
Or event.
Your mind can show you,
Your deepest fears,
What you don’t want to know.
What you don’t know.
It seems farfetched,
That your mind can do this.
But it isn’t your mind,
That makes up these games,
These tests .
It’s,
You.
Just Smile
When you have nothing to do,
just smile.
When you’re sad,
just smile.
When you’ve been hurt,
just smile.
Just smile,
you never know who’s going to see it.
Your smile,
could tell them that it’ll be okay.
Your smile,
might brighten their day.
Your smile,
might help them find their way.
So when all seems bad,
just smile.
When all hope is lost,
just smile.
They can take away your hope,
your happiness,
your life.
But they can’t take away,
your smile.
So smile.
What do you have to lose?
Disappearing
I don’t remember how to breathe,
I don’t remember how to see.
I don’t remember how to love,
I don’t know what I’ve become.
I don’t know how to live,
I don’t remember what joy is.
I can’t see your face anymore,
I don’t know what I need more.
I can’t find the light,
I can’t summon my might.
I don’t have the will fight,
Everything is as black as night.
Frozen
The wind bites at my nose,
Like tiny needles,
Making the skin tingle.
The cold brushes my arms,
Chilling me to the bone.
But I cannot find the will,
To put my coat back on.
The chill feels like magic,
Awakening my senses,
Making me feel alive.
I want to run,
Forever,
With the cold fueling me.
But I couldn’t move and break the spell.
The sky darkens in the distant,
A cue for me to go.
I walk into the warmth of my house,
Bidding the cold goodbye.
