Author bio:
I've been a writer since I saw STAR WARS at twelve. First short stories, then movie scripts, and now books. I'm publishing my short stories to help understand ebooks and Smashwords better, and when I'm ready, I'll work my way to putting a book up here. I have a son who just turned one, and is way more fun than a monkey on a bun (and I can watch one of those for hours). If you want to see a picture of what Jordan the Pirate looked like when he was younger, go to my Facebook page and see our little boy Noli. Neat kid, huh? He said it'd be okay if I shared his bedtime stories with you, so enjoy.

Horror Showcase by David Jeffery Horror Showcase by David Jeffery Oct. 31, 2010 40334 words Read a sample
Author bio:
Dave Jeffery is 46 and lives with his family in rural Worcestershire. He was born in The Black Country and spent most of his youth dreaming of writing and drawing comic strips for DC Thompson, creators of The Beano and The Dandy. Dave completed his first novel, Badlands, at the age of ten and admits that it was 'pretty awful'. He still has it hidden somewhere in his loft. At school he used to write and illustrate comics for his school friends, selling them for a few pennies. At 15 years of age, he was invited to Dundee to see DC Thompson’s offices after sending his portfolio to them. Nothing may have come of the visit but the dream of getting work published continued. He is perhaps best known for his Beatrice Beecham series originally with Chipmunka Publications, London. This adventurous, super-sleuth teenager is currently on her second adventure with a third, Beatrice Beecham’s Cryptic Crypt, due out in 2011. The eBook Housefull of Horrors is released through Smashwords on October 31st and contains all seven Beatrice Beecham chapbooks. Writing as David Jeffery, this author also publishes adult and young adult horror and supernatural fiction. His zombie novel Necroloplis Rising will be released on September 11th through Smashwords. The prelude chapbook Splatoon is available now by following the book cover link on the home page. His Beatrice Beecham Presents: Campside Chillers collection will also be available early next year. In the interim Dave's short stories can be found in the Creature Feature anthology and his story Masquerade has been accepted for inclusion in the forthcoming WATCH anthology from Imprint Phoenix Publications. When he is not writing novels Dave works as a mental health practitioner. He has published an academic book with John Wiley & Sons and articles in his field of mental health whilst presenting on the international stage. He is in the process of editing another book for Speechamrk Publishing Ltd, for release in 2011. He is also author of Finding Jericho, a novel for young adults released through Chipmunka Publications, London exploring the relationship between a 15 year old boy and an uncle who has been diagnosed with manic depression. This book has been endorsed by the mental health charity MIND. Dave enjoys music, playing guitar and was once in a band called The Lion Farm who took their name from the council estate where he was dragged up.

Zachary Harper attended the University of Iowa, receiving degrees in Classical Chinese and Linguistics. Having studied Greek, Hebrew, and Chinese, he immersed himself in the faery tales and folk lore that fired the imaginations of the great early writers and served as the foundation of literature for thousands of years. Now he, too, draws from the well of the muses, writing parables and fables meant to both educate and entertain, hoping for nothing more than to inspire conversation on the ideas too complex to fit into anything other than simple stories.

And finally, Johann 'Pach' Pachelbel in 1694 age 15 at the time. These tales are exciting and often times endearing, I really think you will like them if you just give them a chance.

Author bio:
Hi there. I'm a guy who enjoys creating new things, ranging from short stories to poetry [children's too] and thus writing is an enjoyable pastime for me, beit psycho fiction, sci-fi, supernatural or fantasy, when the inspiration strikes - I write. Art is my second love, and when the mood strikes me, I'll do a landscape painting on box canvas, using acrylic paints. Very relaxing! I usually give them away to friends and family. As for my writings, I've had some works published in paperback and hardback down the years; short story and an assortment of poems. I've dabbled with screenwriting in the past, which is quite an enjoyable, yet complex style. My taste in music is varied too, ranging from modern to classical, and if it sounds good to my ears, I like it. Lady GaGa is a favourite of mine at the present time. Righto, there you have it, a little bit of me and my favourite things. I'd like to thank those who have read this short bio, and also those who have left comments about my ebooks - much appreciated!

WATER and other stories by Daron Fraley WATER and other stories by Daron Fraley Sep. 03, 2010 5946 words Read a sample
Author bio:
Daron Fraley was born in Powell, Wyoming, but doesn’t consider himself a cowboy. Living in France for a couple of years provided him the opportunity to hone his cooking skills and to become addicted to good food and chocolate. Apart from his loving family, teaching and writing are his two most favorite things in the world. A classic computer geek, he still likes to fish and camp, makes a mean apple or pumpkin pie from scratch, and once fixed a gas clothes dryer using photocopier parts. With all of his interests in music, art, the sciences, and religion (especially religion), he would have been quite comfortable living during the Renaissance. Having toured chilly castles while in France, he is glad he didn’t live during that time. “The Thorn” is his first novel. After ten total years in the wonderful state of Indiana, Daron, his wife Jennifer, and their six children once again live in the beautiful Rockies, close to friends and family in Wyoming and Utah.

Just turned 40, living in the Chicago area since 1986 and into writing and photography. I'm a voracious reader and open to most genres. As an author, I've published "Carriage Returns" (poetry from 1988-2008) and "Romantic Confessions" (poetry and haiku 2008-2009).
