Kleencut by Ian M. Dudley Kleencut by Ian M. Dudley April 25, 2012 138 words Read a sample
Author bio:
Ian M. Dudley was born in California in 19--, in what will undoubtedly go down in the history books as a dark year indeed for literature. At age 18, he ran away to New York City to find fame and glamor in the New York literary world. He didn't. Ian has written numerous unpublished works of fiction and non-fiction, the titles of which are too terrible to duplicate here, except for The Killer Party: How to Host A Murder Mystery. The promotional activities for that book led to his incarceration in 1993 in the New York Municipal Hospital for the Criminally Insane.

Armadura de Dios by Riley Weber Armadura de Dios by Riley Weber April 24, 2012 591 words Read a sample
Author bio:
Riley Weber resides in Mesa, Arizona. He has been telling (and making up) stories since he was young. Many moons ago, Riley's favorite topic in grade school was not recess, but creative writing. Recess and lunch came second and third. He loves to write stories of adventures in far (and close) away lands. His inspiration comes from his two young boys who love all things that have to do with diggers, dinosaurs, sports, cars, and chicken nuggets. His stories are tried and tested on his two little munchkins. Riley has always had a passion for art and doodling. He draws cartoons on nearly every paper that comes within arms length of his hands. Recently, he has fined tuned some of his art and writing skills by studying painting and fine art at the local community college. He has also taken courses in writing and storytelling, and writes stories and songs in his free time. Riley has composed and recorded dozens of songs for children which are available worldwide by the character he invented; Nooshi the Balloon Dude. Some of Riley's compositions by Nooshi are top children's Easter, Halloween, and birthday songs. Just recently Riley has dove into the world of authoring and illustrating ebooks. He has many future books ideas with plans to write and illustrate them himself. If you'd like a sneak peak at Riley's next project or would like to find out what other books he has available, visit his website at www.rileyweberart.com. You can also become friends with Riley on Facebook.

Author bio:
Hello, My name is Kate Policani, and I’m a compulsive fiction writer. My first story was called “Super Cat”. It wasn’t good, it was horribly spelled, and the idea was mostly plagiarized. Every journal I own begins with a few days of my life and the rest is a hastily-scrawled record of whatever story came out. Ideas come from my dreams. I think about my stories in bed as I drift off to sleep. I often wake at three am with a writing revelation. I might be dreaming up romance stories in the line at the DMV or texting a poignant line for my main character to my email address from the bathroom at the mall. I live in Seattle, Washington with my wonderful husband and three energetic children. Most of my writing is done to the sound of my children’s voices, and is interrupted every few sentences. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

The Fabulous School 10 by Ismaël Saidi The Fabulous School 10 by Ismaël Saidi April 18, 2012 15417 words Read a sample
Ismaël Saidi has an unusual career. He was born and grew up in Brussels. Very young, he decides to join the police forces. Fresh out of the police academy at age of 20, he tried all the services of the police « from traffic to the criminal section » During his first years in the police forces, he returns to university. A few years later, a degree in public relations and a master in social sciences in his pocket, he began to write movies. It was an old passion that began when his father, a taxi driver, took him each Wednesday to the cinema. At this time, Ismaël was 9 year old. He starts writing everywhere, nights and days, at home, at work in a cafe, in the metro… He wrote dozens of short films and several feature films for others directors before directing his own. After five short films (the last one have been selected in the Panorama section of the Venice Film Festival), he was noticed by the network 2M, in Morocco. The fiction department ordered him a comedy and asked him to be the director. "Rhimou" was born in September 2006 and broke all audience records: more than 10 millions viewers the first night of broadcasting. Following the successful TV movie, the network asked him to create his own tv show. Then began a daunting task: to write thirty episodes (1800 pages). He was also the director of the tv-show. Ismael Saidi, who has thirty years, delivers a season to 2M that sprayed records and becomes a social phenomenon. The last episode of the show was watched by 17 millions people in Morocco and a thousands all over the world. All the actors of tv show, previously unknown, became stars. Ismaël Saidi wrote and direct « Ahmed Gassiaux » a historical drama, intimate, on decolonization. The film is still on promotional tour in festivals all around the world. He wrote "Morrocan Gigolo's" a comedy about suburban youth who decide to sell their charms to octogenarians to get some cash. The script won several workshop prices and is in production right now. L'école 10 is his first book, a collection of short stories drawn from his childhood and that he still tells every night to his children ...

Barbara Hayes worked on the editorial staff and spent many years writing stories and picture strip scripts for the Amalgamated Press, situated in Farringdon Street, which is round the corner from Fleet Street, London. Later Amalgamated Press became Fleetway Publications and subsequently part of the Daily Mirror IPC publishing group. Barbara was just in time to work with some of the old Fleet Street hacks in all their drunken glory before the move away from Fleet Street to modern technical respectability. She got advice straight from the lips of Hugh Cudlipp, the famous editor of the Daily Mirror, and became married to an Amalgamated Press editor, Leonard Matthews, who rose to be a managing editor and then an editorial director. Over the years she has had some 80 books and about 7300 scripts published by companies from England to Australia to South Africa to Florida and back to Holland. She likes to think of herself as an old hack writer who succeeded mainly because she always got her work in on time and the right length - but if you read on carefully you might find quite a few other hints to help you.

Hi folks. So you want to know more about the author? I have long felt like an old curmudgeon trapped in a young person's life. Now that my chronological age has caught up with my mental age, life has become a lot more fun. I have a passion for fixing up my home; currently I am remodeling our nice little 1950s ranch house which is sorely in need of a little love and attention. My son and I love to visit amusement parks and plan to sample every one eventually. But as this is an expensive and time consuming hobby, I am forced to find other ways to entertain myself between trips. I enjoy touring by car and visiting the landmarks and historical sites wherever I go and am not above posing beside the world's largest frying pan or with my head in the holes of ye olde stockes. I have traveled to or through or even lived in twenty-eight states and four countries other than my native USA. I have yet to visit Europe and consider that a terrible failing on my part. I am a true American, mongrel through and through, one quarter German or maybe Dutch, one quarter Scotch Irish (we think), half Native American (but even that half is from two different People). I come from hill folk, hillbillies to you city slickers. But I escaped that fate and have been trying to recapture my heritage ever since. When my son and I are not out traveling, attending college, or working, we like to hang out with our neurotic but lovable dog, Jake and his sidekick Kat, the cat. I have always been an obsessive reader. Somebody once compared readers who turn to writing to drug addicts who turn to dealing. Well, you have to support your habits somehow. As my mother would tell you, I often was late to school because I was reading the back of the cereal box. It is all Doctor Suess' fault. I once attempted to steal The Happy Birthday Bird from the St. Louis Library. My mother let me read it "one more time" before making me return it. So she is partly to blame not only for that little indulgence but the many hours of great story telling we begged off her as kids. Of late I have found writing to be an interesting way to kill time while in forced isolation in places like Camp Spyker, Iraq, Sharana, Afghanistan or Clovis, New Mexico. I mostly find time to write while away from home, but that may change now that I am staring down the barrel of retirement. Hope you enjoy reading my drivel; I am going to be prolific.
