| Author bio: I write about people, their relationships and the dynamics within. I write books, short stories and TV scripts with a leaning towards drama and black comedy. I enjoy illustrating the wide range of emotions experienced in life by people of both genders and the permutations of social and personal cultural influences. I like to reach out and to make contact with readers walking beside them and not leaving them before I have evoked within them thought provoking emotions strung between tragedy and joy. I am a person touched by the irony of life and human frailty. Writing is as much a need for me as a want. Many years ago a complete stranger stopped me on the street and she said, “You will always work for a living†which is proving to be true. Today I work hard and don’t play enough. Instead I find myself traversing internalised continents exploring the complexities of life. Sometimes I have experienced life to be hard hitting, startling and scary which is true for so many people. I love my family and enjoy reading, gardening, painting and travelling. |

Secret Admirer | by Matthew Stephens Jan. 26, 2012 | 2756 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I'm an avid reader and love to write. I am married with two boys and reside in Minnesota. Some of my favorite authors are Stephen King,Dean Koontz, James Patterson, Peter Straub, Suzanne Collins, J.K. Rowling, Thomas Harris, Dan Brown, Cormac McCarthy, and many many more. I'm willing to read any author who has a great idea and is able to express his ideas in a way I can relate(at least with the characters) and understand clearly. I revise constanly and still don't end up satified, but i guess that is something that will come in time, hopefully. I hope you enjoy my stories as much as I enjoy writing them. I am currently working on a novel, but I will try to upload new short stories from time to time, mostly free to read. I believe if I'm going to charge anything it should be at least 4,000 words or more. A lot of the stories I post are old and had been written years ago, but I think they still have good potential (After endless revising and I know they're still not perfect). Thanks for your time. | Author bio: Crazy, adventurous and Spontaneous and always looking for that next adventure. This is how I live and write and want both myself and my characters to be remembered. Life is too short to just sit around in front of a TV in your free time. Born in London, but grew up in Cyprus, Germany, Wales and Scotland, I was diagnosed with the travel and writing bugs very early in life. Writing, reading and traveling are my main passions in life, but I also love outdoor sports from Rugby and Hiking to Tennis and Rock climbing. I'm writing another book right now about my recent four month crazy and awesome back packing adventure through Eastern Europe, from Estonia to Sarajevo, and basically looking forward to more traveling and writing adventures in the near future. I try and treat each day like it was my last. If you never ask then the answer is always no. Live your life now. |

In Your Dreams: A Stage Play in One Act | by Steven Ayckbourn Dec. 30, 2011 | 4540 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: My hours are divided between writing plays (occasionally directing them), playing classical guitar, practicing Tai Chi and spending time with family and friends. I enjoy writing because it allows me to become someone else - often many people. I can live their ups and downs, share in their joys and traumas. More importantly not take sides. Otherwise, alone in a quiet room playing a Dowland lute transcription on my classical guitar is something close to spiritual. Information about my other works can be found by visiting my Web site (see link below). Updated: 30 December 2011 |

Moral Coverage | by Damien Darby Dec. 28, 2011 | 6091 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I live thirty minutes outside of Seattle in the Evergreen State. Though the most absurd trees are towering above the Northern Californian coast. Went there last summer on a road trip and did some extended camping where I was warned, "the bums go". You know why they go there? Because of the view and the trees. All my works that are for sale are currently in the Amazon KDP program. All my free works are here to stay for the community to enjoy. My most recent work is "Amigosa Calm"-A spiritual adventure drama with a world wide cultural revolution mixed in. What happens in the modern age when a prophet-like persona shows up and starts performing miracles? Both my "American Epitaph" books pay homage to all the conspiracy/doomer/anti-establishment movements. They center around a contemporary version of the American Revolution and are set in Phoenix where I grew up. "Occupy Our Common Ground" and "100 Things We Can Occupy" were written for and in the spirit of the Libertarian movements taking shape in our world today. Favorite anonymous quote: "I am more than I seem to be, yet seem to be more than I really am." I got my degree in philosophy, love being lost in the desert, and strive to foster solidarity with other authors and eBookers. Please feel free to contact me. |

Ruined Childhood | by Beth Connolly Dec. 11, 2011 | 1367 words | Sample 30% |
| Author bio: I'm a girl who loves to write. I write almost every day (depending on if I have writer's block or not) and I frequent the computer a lot. I'm on a site called figment where you show people you're stories and see whether they like them or not. I've been having success with that so I thought I'd put my works to the ultimate test: seeing whether people really want to read them/download them or not. |
