I must in all honesty, update this entry, for I stumbled onto the magic key to post a story on Smashwords. It was operator error not one of the poltergeist that I’m sure came preloaded in my computer that prevents me from getting what I want from it. For those of you who didn’t read this bio before—which I’m sure includes the rest of the world’s population—I repeat: I am an old man who loves to write. I started decades ago—the exact number is irrelevant—on a cast iron framed manual typewriter that would now serve little purpose beyond a boat anchor. I love composing fiction on the computer, mainly because of the spell check feature. Why someone who can’t spell worth a damn wants to write, I’ll never be able to explain. I take solace in the knowledge that some well-known writers throughout history were so afflicted. However, I must confess, that is about as far as I can go into this—to me—frightening world of cyberspace. I don’t have accounts on face book (wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole. Almost nightly the news is filled with stories of people murdered by people they have contacted there.) I feel the same way about Myspace, a blog or personal web site. I don’t tweet or twit or what ever that is. That really seems silly--just call them and talk! So I’ll be contented to write and enjoy retirement until the final heartbeat or wayward city buss runs me over.

And if you're asking yourself, hey Ian what's the deal with the tennis anyway, I mean seriously? Well, I've always been drawn to the sport. I feel it's the only sport a man and woman can play competitively together and have it be intense and almost sexy. All the grunting and the rhythm that players can get into on the court as they blast the ball back to each other over the net can be incredibly sensual. Not to mention the shorts skirts and all that bending over… Anyway, what was the question again? I set out to write a story to capture the intense desire between an older woman and a younger man who were completely crazy about one another, but were desperately trying to squash those feelings. I wanted to explore all the passionate thoughts floating around in their heads as they pined away, but for various reasons were prevented from acting on their cravings. I wrote the first draft of a non-steamy version of Inappropriate Thoughts in early 2011 and before I even polished it, I was so intrigued with the amazing Victoria Wilde character in the story that I put that novel away for a while and wrote Victoria's back-story. I wondered how Victoria developed her mojo, her superfun, wild, strong, sexy personality and I as I crafted it I had a blast; the words just poured out of me. When I finished, I was hooked on writing steamy contemporary romance. Then I decided that is where I wanted to take my original novel. I decided to spice up Inappropriate Thoughts and create a whole series of explicit, funny, romantic novels with Victoria in the center of each. Today I have the first two novels in the series available, Secret Thoughts is part two, and I'm currently putting the finishing touches on part three, Revealing Thoughts, along with the prequel, Desperate Thoughts, which should be available in November 2011. I plan on releasing part four, Second Thoughts, late in 2011 or early 2012.
