At the same time that he turned from teaching fine art, he also turned from its practice -have you seen the crap that passes for fine art these days?!?- to concentrate on writing. After many rejection slips he finally had some encouragement. 'Interesting,' said one editor, 'but it lacks passion. Spice it up a bit.' Which he did, only to be told 'wow!'... 'well!'... I learned how to play guitar from the devil himself. I have a small music promotion company called Donut Incident. Feel free to check out it's myspace page and check out some new music from some awesome friends of mine. I wrote short stories and stuff for my D&D groups throughout the years and they were mostly oriented around the planes because planescape was cool back in the nineties and spelljammer was old. I also wrote a five hundred page poetry book based on love and LSD trips back in the nineties while I was playing in a band called Hollow and plotting to take over the music world from a garage and a donut shop. Whatever, later on in life I was sittin in jail and was like, wtf, I can write better than this crap they are force feeding us and so I started to finish The Shadowbelt after first developing the idea way back in the day and throwing up some chapters online back in my Ft. Myers days. Unfortunately the last half of the book went missing cause I'm a cluts so I have cut the second part back a bit and have rewritten it in a way cool fashion and it has taken a completely different turn for the better. Really happy with the results so please feel free to check out "The Shadowbelt 2 "Divided Wings". Anyone out there have any idea how many music videos have been based off of my work? It's been an honor and a privelege overall and I hope that even if you end up not liking my books you will at least get turned on to some cool music while you are here. Author bio:
"The Alpha Centauri Project" is a transhumanist novel about emerging technologies and space exploration, set in a near future populated by humans and digital beings. Suspense and action, but also a fascinating travel into the impacts of Artificial Intelligence on our civilization. From this, a powerful comparison with our civilization emerges, that stripping away layer after layer of conventions and prejudices, leaves us at last face to face with the morals of a world that one day we might share. Preface by Marta Rossi, iLabs -- http://www.ilabs.it/HomeIT.asp . ********* THEY SAID: "Just finished reading "The Alpha Centauri Project" a couple days ago. I really enjoyed it. The brief "chapters" were a very interesting method for structuring. I also appreciated the recollections of the historian punctuating the story. At times, I wondered if you had initially written this as a screenplay and later adapted it into a novel. Oh, and the ending is fantastic! I'm going to give the story a second read, to ensure I absorbed everything and then would be interested in using FB to discuss. " "Just finished... my goodness, what a beautiful mind you have! In addition to stimulating my own creativity, the first thoughts I had after reading this is how gorgeous it would be in an animated or motion picture format. Have you received any screenplay offers?" "Even uncommon visualization is an extreme sport. It requires daring, controlled thought, and the ability to overcome barriers within the mind, imposed by current societal norms. You are a sportsman of this genre, without doubt." "I just finished reading your captivating ebook and felt compelled to drop you a quick note to thank you and to let you know how much I enjoyed reading it. Your style is both fresh and captivating. The characters are believable and quite identifiable in their roles. I almost hated to finish reading it. Looking forward to more from you as our most uncertain future unfolds and AI one day, becomes self aware." "Hi Marco, I think Alpha Centauri Project could definitely be adapted for a film. The characters are strong and likeable for sci fi." In poche parole, mi è piaciuto molto. Sei davvero in gamba" More reviews on http://itunes.apple.com/it/book/progetto-alfa-centauri-thinking/id419799732?mt=11 ********** CONSIDERATIONS Suspense and action, but also a fascinating travel into the impacts of Artificial Intelligence on our civilization. I have often wondered if a world without the violence and the selfishness of us humans - result of millions of years of struggle for survival - can become a reality. For digital beings aiming at eternal life, this might be a prerequisite. Improving knowledge, avoiding conflicts and spreading into the Universe can be their goals. Truth, collaboration and responsibility their values… The future, passionate scenarios described in this novel make the reader share the soul of a civilization. The title – Alpha Centauri project - has a vast meaning well beyond the colonization of the nearest star system. It rises to symbol of an even greater plan: the mastery by the digital people of their own future. Social issues as well as dreams and projects of the digital people are key drivers of the story. The transformational arc of the main characters is functional to collective identity and goals. Victoria must abandon her earthy links to share the objectives of the digital beings, and Eve must overcome the delusions of her past existence on Earth, to become a leader of her people. Both of them must change their scale of values to win future challenges. The novel is available only in free digital format and updated regularly. It has been translated into English, Spanish, French and Italian. The last editions of the ebooks can be downloaded for free from the Author's website. Copyright Marco Santini ********** ABOUT THE AUTHOR Marco Santini graduated in Engineering and specialized in Business Administration. Deeply interested in high-tech trends, he has written “The Alpha Centauri Project”, a novel depicting a near future dominated by technology. He has made the ebook free and downloadable in several languages, in order to share its content with the widest audience and to contribute to discussion about great themes.

First and foremost I am a story teller. A weaver of tales you might say. You will find my story telling to cross many genres. I can't help it. An idea will pop into my head and then grow. I do not control the ideas genres, nor do I control the stories unfolding. Why do I tell stories? Well mainly to shut the characters up. They do not stop whispering in my head until their story is told. Oh, also you the reader. Yes, I have to admit that I tell stories for your entertainment. My characters depending on genre and what they are doing will try to make you laugh, cry, hold your breath, bring you to the front of your seat, and so on. They want to entertain you. So on behalf of all the whispering people in my head I hope you enjoy the ride of what ever story you choose to read.

Author bio:
Detroit native, Sylvia Hubbard, a single mother of three, has worked tirelessly to promote and encourage emerging writers in Michigan. She independently published her first romance novel in 2000 and has continued to write in that genre, sometimes venturing into other sub-genres. Always urban and contemporary styled, her writing is enjoyed all over the world. She has published 4 paperbacks and over 10 e-books. The same year she published, Ms Hubbard also created Motown Writers Network to fill the lack of education and networking for Michigan authors online and offline. By 2004, she was frustrated that all the literary conferences had moved too far away from the city and co-created The Essence of Motown Literary Jam Conference held only in the City of Detroit annually. In addition to romance writing, Hubbard has been featured at various conferences and workshops all over the United States and Canada, where she has taught authors how to sell their books on the Internet. She also published Internet Marketing for Writers & Businesses as a resource for those unable to attend her workshops. In the upcoming year, she will be featured in several anthologies and plans to publish additional e-books.

Test Pilot by John H. Carroll Test Pilot by John H. Carroll Dec. 24, 2010 6063 words Read a sample
Author bio:
John H. Carroll was the youngest of seven children and was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1970 where he was kept in a dresser drawer with the clean socks. Luckily, he wasn’t kept with the dirty socks or else he might have grown up to become slightly warped. As a child, John spent most of his time wandering through the Mojave Desert in an attempt to avoid people. He would stare at the sky, imagining what it would be like to explore different worlds. One of his favorite memories is watching his dad build the fuselage of Evel Kneivel’s skycycle in their garage. One of his least favorite moments was watching that skycycle fall into the Snake River. (Not his dad’s fault and he has documentation to prove it, so nyah) As a teenager, John spent most of his time driving wherever he could in an attempt to avoid people. He would stare at the road, imagining what it would be like to explore different worlds. He was the captain of the chess team, lettered in golf and band while in high school, and wasn’t beaten up anywhere near as much as one might imagine. As an adult, John spends most of his time staring at a computer screen in an attempt to avoid people. He stares at the monitor for hours, imagining what it would be like to explore different worlds. He has been married to his wonderful wife for 14 years and they have three obnoxio . . . wonderful children who always behave . . . when they’re asleep. Emo bunny minions surround John at most times. He is their imaginary friend and they look to him for guidance. At one point, they took over the world. No one noticed because they left everything exactly as it was. They gave the world back after a week because it was depressing. The Willden Trilogy is his first endeavor into the field of writing. Other series and standalone works will be forthcoming. In addition, John has written a number of short stories he publishes for free because he likes you so much. (And it’s good marketing. Shh) He writes in the evenings and weekends whenever possible. Continuing story: Princess Of Power - Castle Queen - Lost Souls - A New Beginning My imaginative short stories do not reflect the person I am. I am not by any means a professional writer. I write for the joy of it. So yes, there may be tons of grammatical errors. I have been working on the fourth and final installment to this series. It is titled "A New Beginning" and it is now published! I believe it is the best in the series and slightly over 20,000 words. I hope when you read my stories, you can connect with the characters and envision the scenes in your mind. My short stories are for entertainment only. Thank you for reading.
