Sex Cicada and the Righteous King of Albanny | by Nipaporn Baldwin Feb. 06, 2012 | 1796 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I am a teenage African American poetess trying to open up a new avenue in the world of Dragons: Space Dragons!! And I WILL make it "work." My stories are mostly flash fiction, short stories and (best of all) poetry. About The Society On Da Run series: Earth has seen many visitors, from space dragons colonizing the planet in Pre Cambrian times to intelligent insectoids and benevolent owl gods. Follow the adventures of a wide cast of characters as they encounter the dragons of the Draconizica empire, and Ashuton Karrucci, the god of dragons going about his daily life in Italy. From a story about a small town ravaged by an airborn dragon virus, to a story about a cruel dragon king on a terraformed Mars, to the story of a girl pregnant with a Dragon god, these stories are not bound by the norms of the Fantasy and Science Fiction genres. Also includes stories unrelated to the dragons. _______________________________________________ As of March 2012, all issues in the TSODR have been (or are being) updated with new covers and additional content. Gridiron Follies | by M Koleosho Feb. 03, 2012 | 14852 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: As a kid my imagination was molded by the likes of Enid Blyton and the heroes of Marvel and DC Comics. Fast forward to modern day, and it seems those books and characters had a stronger grip on me than I initially thought. Writing gives me the ability to delve into characters and worlds that would typically be closed off to me in my normal life. An Avid sports fan and music aficionado. I tend to gravitate towards anything that involves creativity. Of late photography seems to have piqued my interest also. I consider myself an expressionist. I write, take pictures and live for new experiences. |

Midnight Fire - Rise of the Dark Angel | by Melody Anne Jan. 26, 2012 | 65666 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Melody has had a passion for writing since she was a little girl. Her first book was written at around the age of ten, and it was about a handsome prince Charming rescuing his princess and taking her away to his castle to live happily ever after. She continued to write through her teenage years, but never with the expectation to ever publish anything. Around 2007 Melody realized that she had finished her first full manuscript, and looked at it in awe. She had around a hundred books started on her computer, but had never finished one before. She was so ecstatic about her accomplishment that she jumped in to work on another book. She finished five books in a three year period, and then started thinking about possibly publishing those books. Melody did a lot of research and discovered how to get her books published, and has been in author’s bliss since then. She is thrilled by the success of her books, since she loves her characters so much, and wants the world to feel the same way. She is constantly working on new materials, and feels like the sky is the limit. Her family helps come up with many ideas, and her friends are a constant help. She hopes you love her books as much as she loves writing them. Melody has two amazing children, along with about five additional kids that she adores like her own kids, that keep her busy all the time with school events, and sporting schedules, a husband who has become a pretty great cook since she is planted in front of her computer all the time, and two puppies, who help her writing by making sure to keep her lap or feet warm. Family is always first in her life. |

To get an idea of what my life has been like watch The Middle (episodes available on Hulu). Some things that are not included in that show that did happen to be included in my real life are: My dad's a funeral director (I know spooky right!) so I grew up listening to jokes like "When I die, I'd like to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather did. Not screaming like the passengers in his car! Budumpcha -- That was my spelling of a drum role. I am a middle child and a self-proclaimed keeper of the piece. I married young, and am living happily ever after with my guy and our pet cat. At any rate, I hope you enjoy these stories! |

Moldable Youth: A Collection of Poetry and Prose | by Amy Tuso Jan. 22, 2012 | 3453 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Amy Tuso writes stories about high school because she knows the importance, value and overall impact those four short years have on all of us. She remembers high school in graphic detail, yet chooses to still spend her days within its halls. She is a social worker specializing in substance abuse and violence prevention in a high school setting. She has found that in high school what is normal becomes grey and is based more in perception than reality. Her stories represent both the perceptions and the realities of growing up; they are a journey through clichés, brutal honesty and true friendship. She believes that what doesn’t destroy us makes us stronger, but being strong doesn’t mean having all the answers. |

My life has undoubtedly been harsher than others, being forced to live in a wheelchair and all, but my imagination, personality and drive to continue has helped me to write. It's impossible to know if I'd still write if not for being a quadriplegic, but I've come to enjoy writing and sharing my passion and stories with others. |

The Witches: An Extraordinary Tale | by Gerrard Wlson Jan. 16, 2012 | 2011 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I am Gerrard T Wilson, the crazymad writer of children's stories. Although my works are primarily aimed at children, adults can and, indeed do, read them with as much interest and excitement. I like to think that my work has a universal appeal, spanning the generations, the sexes and even the continents. I have written so many stories, including 'Tales of the Extraordinary' (short stories with a unique, sometimes chilling appeal), 'Ali-bonkers', 'Fizzy Cherry Cola', and 'The Witches', also 'Forget the Celebrities -Read about My Crazy Life' (weird and bizarre tales from my absolutely crazy-mad life), 'Alice on Top of the World' (a follow on story to Alice in Wonderland, and Through the Looking Glass), 'HARRY, oh, she is a ROTTER (she's bad - and has lost her Magical Marbles), and 'Jimmy, the Glue Factory and Mad Mr Viscous' (Jimmy is trying to stop Mr Viscous from rendering the horses into GLUE). I also wrote 'Nursery Rhymes - MY CRAZYMAD WAY' (my own unique slant on some familiar rhymes), 'My CRAZYMAD Poems' (a collection of strange, oddball, oftentimes bizarre poems, including 'Are you Normal?', 'Conkers Bonkers', 'Louco's Preferred Drink', 'Sparky Parents' , and 'I'm NOT Mad'). There is also 'Bolf' (a Troll whose idea of a having good time is eating empty cigarette packets!). You will also read about 'Fle' (an extremely old elf who lives in a fertilizer mine), 'Fairy Tales' including 'The Three Faerie Sisters', the 'Little Brown Frog', and 'A Christmas Story'. Next up is 'God, dog and Beelzebub' (what (what on earth can that be about?), 'Greengrocer Jack and the Talking Cabbages' (trying to stop a giant Yam from taking over the world), 'Poor Jane', and 'A Punt across the Thames' (I almost drowned that day!). Last, but certainly not least, I also wrote Wot, Nott, Kakuri and the HU BA HOU', a series (three quadrilogies) featuring the oddball Outlanders, Wot and Nott. Instead of giving your child that extra toy for his or her birthday, a book is a far better option. Preferably one of mine, I am sure they will treasure it long after their toys are abandoned at the back of that dusty old wardrobe. Signed: The Crazymad Writer - ARRRGH. |

His most recent dream is to write informative manuals as well as short stories via the E-book format, and with the love and support of his family and friends, he hopes this dream will become a reality. He currently resides in Florida near his family, whom he would like to thank wholeheartedly for giving him the hope and inspiration that he needs to make all of his dreams come true. |

| Author bio: Jansina has been writing ever since she could do more than make meaningless scribbles with a crayon. She began her writing career at 13 with a newspaper column, Jansina's Journal. Her goal is to create realistic Christian fiction for young adults that will both entertain and inspire. This is her first published novel, though she has over one hundred published articles, short stories and poems in various newspapers and magazines (including the Saint Paul Pioneer Press and Brio). She is a native of Minnesota, and a few years ago discovered Backus, a little-known town of 300. Although she may never live there herself, she lives vicariously through her characters. Jansina is in the process of writing two additional novels, and several short stories-all with the setting loosely based on that little town. Many of the characters in Forgotten Memories play larger parts in those stories. When not writing, Jansina works in marketing, and also copy edits others' books, scholarly papers and articles. In her spare time she enjoys Irish and swing dancing, singing, and rereading Austen's novels. She doesn't spend much time in cemeteries. |

| Author bio: I'm an aspiring writer of young adult fiction, poetry, romance, and more! =^-^= I love to read/write poetry. I'm trying to become better at what I do, find great meaning in art, and befriend like-minded writers (and even un-like-minded). (/ (/ (^_^) c(")(") And that's a bunny. |

| Author bio: I am a Canadian photojournalist interested in topics of spirituality, travel, ancient sites and Celtic history. One of the key elements in my ebooks is nature as I find that a way to connect to the spiritual side of people. Whether fiction or nonfiction, we can all relate to the trees, sun and sky. I also like writing stories about my grandchildren Shannon and Ally who are growing up faster than I can write! |
